The premise of This Is Us follows the lives of the three siblings, Kavin, Kate, and Randall of the Pearson family. The protagonists deal with the struggles of their lives while simultaneously dealing with their unhealed past trauma and trying to find happiness in mundane things. The show depicts the story of the siblings using multiple flashbacks from the past. We learn about how Kate and Kavin are the two surviving members of a triplets pregnancy. Their parents Rebecca and Jack Pearson are loving parents to them. The kids were born six weeks prior to Jack’s birthday. The Pearsons firmly believe that conceiving triplets meant that they were always supposed to have three children. This leads to their decision of adopting Randall.
