Jagame Thandhiram

“Jagame Thandhiram” which means The Universe is a ruse. It is a Tamil language action thriller movie that was released in 2021. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj and a Dhanush starrer movie got 6 on IMDb. It follows the story of a man named Suruli, who is a carefree gangster in Madurai. He takes help with some overseas crime lords in order to take down his enemies. He later got caught off because of some moral dilemmas that he follows.

In April 2016, according to the initial announcement, Thenandal Studio Limited would handle the project. However, due to the financial problems facing the production house, the project was canceled at that time. Soon in February 2018, this project revived once again, now YNOT Studios acquires all the rights for films production. Filming took place across London, Madurai, Rameswaram, and Jaipur between September and December 2019. It was officially launched in July and production began in September.

This movie got released on June 18, 2021, on Netflix.

Vikram Vedha

Vikram Vedha is a neo-noir action thriller film of 2017. It’s a Tamil Language film directed by Pushkar-Gayathri. It is based on the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi and tells the story of Vikram, a police inspector who sets out to catch and kill Vedha, a gangster. In exchange for his surrender, Vedha tells Vikram three tales that change the way he views Good and Evil.

In January 2015, Sashikanth announced he would be producing a film directed by a husband-and-wife duo, Pushkar and Gayathri. After a year-long of developing the script, Madhavan and Sethupathi were selected for the lead roles in February 2016.

In 2017, the film Vikram Vedha was released in India with positive reviews, and critics praised the film’s all-around production. Made on the budget of 110 million rupees, the film did well and well at the box office, grossing over 600 million rupees worldwide. Vikram Vedha won four Filmfare awards and also won the Norway Tamil Film Festival award.

 Jallikattu

Jalikattu is a Malayalam language-independent action thriller action film of 2019 which was directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. This movie is based on a short story by Hareesh, named Maoist. The plot of this movie is based on a bull that escapes from a slaughterhouse in a remote hilly village. The men of the entire village get together just to hunt down the wild animal before it makes any life damage to any villagers.

A special screening of Jallikattu took place at the 24th Busan International film festival in the section ‘A window on Asian Cinema’ on Saturday, 6 September. The film received widespread critical acclaim. This film was also screened at the 50th international Film Festival of India in October, and Mr. Pellisssery won the Best Director award. It was in contention for the Best International Feature Film category at the 93rd Academy Awards but did not receive a nomination. It becomes the third Malayalam film after Adaminte Makan Abu and Guru to be chosen as India’s official entry of the Oscars.

 Kaithi

Kaithi is an Indian Tamil language action thriller film of 2019, which was written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. This film follows the story of a prisoner who got recently released meet his daughter, evading criminals chasing him, while poisoned officers await him at the hospital. The film was reportedly influenced by a 1976 American film assault on Precinct 13.

Kaithi was released on 25th October, just in time for Diwali. It was received well, with praise for Karthi and supporting cast, Lokesh’s directing, screenplay, action sequences, and the absence of songs in mainstream Tamil cinema.

It became a blockbuster after the release and receives positive reviews, grossing 105 crores at the box office. This film was also screened at the International Indian Film Festival in Toronto in August 2020. This film is being to be remade in the Hindi language with starring Ajay Devgan as Bholaa. The film’s sequel is also under production titled Kaithi 2.

 K.G.F: Chapter 1

K.G.F: Chapter 1 is a Kannada language film of India which was released on 20 December 2018 in the United States of America and Canada. In India, this film got released a day after 21st December 2018. This action crime fiction was written and directed by Prashanth Neel. This film was shot in Kannada with a budget of Rs. 80 crore, which made this film the most expensive Kannada language film at the time of the release.

The story of the film focuses on a high-ranked assassin of Mumbai named Rocky Bhai. He was born in poverty in Mumbai’s slum. Later he poses his life as slave labor in the Narachi Company which is a Kolar Gold Fields. He later plans to assassinate a billionaire gold smuggler named Garuda, this Garuda is the son of Narachi’s owner. This movie performs commercially and gained over Rs. 250 crore making this film the highest-grossing Kannada language film of all time. Pushpa is widely compared to K.G.F: Chapter 1 by the general public because these two movies share the same style and concept. But the bottom line is both movies are just great.

Arya is a Telugu language film of India that was released on May 7th, 2004. This movie was directed and written by Sukumar, this film was his debut film as a director.

The story follows the life of a free spirit boy Arya. The plot focuses on the love life of this outgoing boy; he falls in love with an Introverted girl named Geetha. Both of them fall under the sway of another character, Ajay. Upon its release on 7 May 2004, the film received positive reviews and responses and it was a commercial hit grossing over Rs. 30 crore worldwide. It was released in Malayalam under the same title and became a huge hit in Kerala theatres as well as gaining Allu Arjun a large fanbase.

Arjun Reddy

Arjun Reddy is a romantic Telugu language film of India which was written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. This film was released on 25th August 2017. The idea of this film was partially inspired by Sandeep Vanga’s life.

This film revolves around the story of Arjun Reddy Deshmukh (Deverankonda), a highly functional alcoholic surgeon with anger management issues. Arjun becomes self-destructive after his girlfriend Preethi Shetty (Pandey) marries him; the story centers on his decline and eventual redemption.

This movie is based on the budget of Rs. 50-51 million; it receives positive reviews from critics for its direction, writing, and cinematography. This movie was also praised for its performances; the character of this Reddy was fabulously performed by actor Deverankonda. This film was a success on box office, and have grossed over Rs. 510 million globally. This movie receives six nominations on the 65th Filmfare Awards South, including best Telugu film and best direction. But the film won the best actor award for Deverkonda’s performance.

 Rangasthalam

Rangasthalam is a 2018 movie in the Telugu language. It is an action drama film written and directed by Sukumar. The film, Rangasthalam, is set in the fictional village of the same name in the 1980s. It tells the story of two brothers, Chittibabu and Kuman Babu, who oppose the corrupt village government and cooperative society led by Phanindra Bhupathi. Asuran means Demon is a 2019 Tamil language film of India which was written and directed by Vetrimaaran. The story of this movie is based on Poomani’s novel Vekkai which means heat. Gaddalakonda Ganesh

Gaddalakonda Ganesh is a 2019 Telugu language film of India. This action thriller film is directed by Harish Shankar. It is a remake of the 2014 Tamil language film Jigarthanda which itself a remake of a South Korean film titled A Dirty Carnival. The title of This film was supposed to be Valmiki but later changed to Gaddalakonda Ganesh after major controversies and legal problems. This movie is a success at the box office and gained over Rs.42 crores with a budget of Rs.25 crores. On the 26th of January 2019, the film was originally launched, and the further procedure took place at the Ramanaidu Film Studios.
