Never Have I Ever season 4 is going to be the last and final season of the show. Sadly, we will not be able to meet with Devi, Ben and Paxton for a fifth run. This also implies that season 4 will have a concrete ending connecting all the loose threads. Therefore, even if it is sad that we will not get another season of Never Have I Ever, the last season will give us the appropriate (required) closure.
Never Have I Ever Story: Start Of Devi’s New Highschool Era
We will understand the story according to the chronology of the events. The story of Never Have I Ever begins with Devi losing her father. Losing a parent leaves a lot of impact on the kid. We have seen the same happening with Rue in Euphoria, now here we have Devi.
Before moving on to what happened. Let us first know about Devi. Devi is an Anglo-Indian whose full name is Devi Vishwakumar. She is a Tamil who was born in America. Devi and her family live in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California. At the beginning of the series, she was only 15 years old.
Now let us come back to what we were discussing about Devi’s father. When she was about to begin her high school days, she lost her father all of a sudden. The sudden loss caused her a humungous amount of pain that she was not able to recover from the first few months. You will be shocked to know that she was so distressed that she lost all the sensations of her legs. Slowly, Devi recovered from her situation and decided that she would live for herself.
This became the turning point of her life. The next high school year was Devi’s year as she completely underwent a makeover and all that is required to achieve a new personality. Finally, the day comes when Devi manages to date her crush Paxton Hall-Yoshida. It all happens pretty fast, and we see Devi and Paxton getting closer to each other. Devi starts to live the best of her life while her friends on the other hand struggle with their issues. Does life continue to be the same for Devi? Absolutely Not! This is high school after all!
New Boyfriend, New Drama!
Devi manages to juggle her feelings for both Ben and Paxton. Yes, Ben is entering the picture. She has been with both Ben and Paxton, and she wants both of them. This reminds us of Katherine from The Vampire Diaries. She wanted both the brothers to herself, and here Devi wants the same too. However, things cannot go on like this, can they? Of course not! She has to choose between either Paxton or Ben. Whom she chooses is a thing to witness.
Also, in season 2 of the show we have another character included all of a sudden. She is Aneesa Qureshi. Aneesa makes the whole situation extra difficult for Devi because everybody who gave Devi “attention” is giving the same to Aneesa, and Devi cannot tolerate it. Jealousy plays a big role in high school if you have not known about it, and our Devi falls into the same trap of jealousy. Nevertheless, we do not see Aneesa in the next season of the show. Hence, Devi is free from Aneesa, and she continues to live her life.

Paxton Or Ben?
If you are confused between Team Paxton or Team Ben, I do not blame you because Devi has similar issues. Although Devi wants to date Paxton, she does so, but as mentioned above, she wants Ben for herself as well. In season 3 we see her going through various ups and downs with Paxton. We do not know whom Devi is going to end up with. This is a moment of serious anticipation.
Season 3 shows the breakup of Devi and Paxton. Although they patched up together after resolving the tons of misunderstandings between them, they ultimately end up the relationship. It is mainly because of Devi’s jealousy and suspicion.
I do not know, sometimes I feel like this girl needs to sort her priorities because she always seems so confused. To some extent, this is not only becoming toxic for her, but it is also becoming toxic for the people surrounding her.
