Our curiosity about time travel has given rise to various books, series and films to be made on this particular aspect that is still undiscovered. The 1980-90s film franchise, Back To The Future, is completely about time travel and its various advantages and disadvantages.

Travelling in time is like a loop. Once you enter that loop, it becomes very difficult for you to come out of it. Why? Because time should not be played with. Even if we know this, we cannot stop ourselves from tampering with time in our pieces of fiction. One of the first instances of this is The Time Machine by H.G. Wells. Time Travel also has various anime dedicated to it. Anime like Tokyo Revengers and Doraemon are based on this. Hence, it is very evident how interesting and intriguing the concept of time travel is to us.

Back To The Future Part 4

After the trilogy of the film was released in the 1980-the and 90s, people have been wondering if the film franchise is going to get another addition to it. People all around the world loved the first film, Back To The Future, immensely. They loved it enough to make it a box office hit and gain worldwide recognition. After the success of the first film, the creators decided to go on with a second and a third movie, thus, completing the trilogy. However, people still want to know if the franchise is going to receive a fourth film.

It has come to our notice that Back To The Future will not be returning for a fourth run on the big screen. The creators of the film have conveyed the message that they do not want to prolong the franchise any longer. They wanted to make a trilogy, and they already did so. Hence, they are not interested in making another part of the film. Although there have been various talks about the making of a fourth film, that will not be the case ultimately.

One of the creators of the franchise, Bob Gale stated that he will not make another movie in the franchise without Michael J. Fox as the lead character of Marty. He is very much against the idea, and so is his co-writer. He stated that the video game version of the movie can be considered to be the fourth part, but nothing more will be provided to the audience besides that. Tom Holland Was Offered The Role Of Marty McFly

He may offer his hand in carrying out the recreation of certain scenes from the original movie, but he will not sign for a full-fledged remake of the film. It has to be mentioned that in 2015, a short film in memory of the film franchise was released. This year also marks the time when the trio traveled to fix an issue in the McFly family. Hence, 2015 was the year that was chosen for the short film. In the film, the connection between the three films has been strengthened through various elements of science fiction. The short film became a perfect ending connecting all the loose strands of the trilogy. After this film, nothing more of the franchise was developed.

Time Travel In Back To The Future: First Time

Back To The Future scenes

Time travel is the main aspect of all three films of the Back To The Future franchise. If you watched the movies, you will know that the storylines of the movies are gripping and completely adventurous.

The first film became a complete superhit movie after its release. Here, the teenager Marty McFly who mysteriously is sent back in time to 1955. The time machine involved in the film has been built from the DeLorean car model.

In 1955, Marty has the power to alter several aspects of the future of 1985. He can save Doc Brown from getting killed, and he can also improve his family’s conditions. It is exactly what Marty does. In 1955, he convinces his mother to fall in love with George McFly and not with Marty. Hilariously, when Marty arrived in 1955 for the first time, his mother fell in love with him instead of his father. Hence, Marty skilfully reversed the entire situation.

Marty avoids Biff Tannen this time. He also saves Doc Brown from getting killed by the terrorists. Hence, after returning to the future, he notices that his family condition has drastically improved, and Doc Brown is also alive. However, the film ends on a cliffhanger with Doc Brown returning and stating that Marty and his girlfriend, Jennifer, have to take care of an issue in the future.

Again Back To The Future: Second Time

In 1989, the first film of the series saw the release of its sequel. This time Biff Tannen takes a superior role of an antagonist. He gets the opportunity to reverse the situation and mould it in his favour. He sneakily steals both the Sports almanac and the time machine to travel back to 1985 to help his past self. When the trio of Marty, Doc Brown, and Jennifer returns to 1985, they notice the significant changes that Tannen has made.

The situation becomes difficult to handle. Hence, Marty and Doc Brown decide to travel to 2015 again and prevent Tannen from his stealing. But, the situation goes crazy while returning to 1985, Doc Brown and Marty get separated. They are placed in different timelines, Brown in 1885, and Marty in 1955.

Back To The Future For The Last Time

The ending of the second movie called for a third movie immediately. The third movie included Marty travelling to 1885 to retrieve Doc Brown back. However, Doc Brown is in love this time. In this timeline, he has found his peace with Clara Clayton and does not want to leave. As a result, Marty has to come back to 1985 without the Doc.

The final movie of the trilogy ended on a happy note for both Doc Brown and Marty McFly. They are happy in their timelines, they have changed their pasts, they have traveled in time several times, and now they are finally happy with the love of their lives.

Therefore, the trilogy finally came to an in 1990. This is another reason why the film will not return for the fourth time. The film came to an end without any cliffhanger, and it gave a happy ending to both the characters, so, the trilogy marked the end of the film franchise in 1990.
