Juvenile Justice Season 2 Story

The protagonist of our story is Shim Eun-Seok. Seok has a reserved, cold, and distant persona. Her disposition often proves to be a challenge. She is looked at as someone who would not be able to handle herself and keep aside her personal bias for the betterment of her job. This is why all hell breaks loose when she is appointed as a judge in a juvenile court. The courtroom drama has well-written characters in a well-scripted situation.

As we know, at times the crimes committed by minors can be gruesome. Seok is the newly appointed judge of the District Court of Yeonhwa. There are a lot of factors that need to be considered before one passes judgment. One cannot forgive them only because they are kids. Nor can they be punished because of the judges’ dislikes. A gripping drama has ensued as we follow the story and see how Seok’s judgments pan out.

Seok is driven by fair judgment. She feels that kids do everything from burglary to murder. It doesn’t make sense to her that they should be left alone just because they are young. A lot many officers are against Seok. They think that punishing the kids is in a way depriving them of childhood. Juvenile Justice puts forth a very pertinent point. When the crime is as heinous as rape, why should youth be the only reason to set them free.

After all, law and order set fear in the minds of criminals, then why shouldn’t they be punished? Will this not set a wrong precedent? Maybe youngsters start feeling that since their actions have no consequences, they can do anything that their heart desires even if it’s a crime. The film is a social commentary in the way that it tells its viewers that society as a whole is just as responsible for the actions of its youth. It is a great watch for fans of the genre.
