Jee Karda Season 1 Recap

We measure the timespan of our lives in terms of milestones and achievements, don’t we? Be it the 18th birthday, the 21st or the 30th, these 3 days always hold a special corner in our hearts. Preet Chuharmalani (Anya Singh), standing on the threshold of the 30th birthday of her life, is a counsellor. She tries to help everyone sort out their feelings but her own emotions and love life are a hot mess and she has no idea how to sort it out. Shahid Ansar (Hussain Dalal) is a kind-hearted and genius man burdened by financial issues. He’s following his passion, teaching students to become the best version of themselves but it comes with the price of being the impecunious one in his friends’ circle.

Sheetal Kotadiya (Samvedna Suwalka) is happily married to the love of her life and her best friend, Sameer. Though they are celebrating their third marriage anniversary, Sheetal believes her relationship lacks the space she needs. As their party moves forward, Lavanya Singh (Tamannaah Bhatia) and Rishabh Rathore (Suhail Nayyar) walk in, hand in hand with bright smiles. They have known each other forever, have been in a relationship with each other for four years and now Rishabh wants to marry Lavanya. They are hammered when Lavanya agrees to Rishabh’s drunken proposal with all of her friends witnessing their inebriated drama sans the two–Melroy D’Monte (Sayan Banerjee) and Lavanya’s first crush and Rishabh’s best friend, the star singer Arjun Gill (Ashim Gulati).

Jee Karda Season 1 Ending Explained

On the surface, these seven friends have known each other for decades and always have each other’s backs. If you take a closer look, their relationships are burdened by their personal life issues and tangled feelings. Sheetal and Sameer are your average Indian couple who live in a joint family and is always struggling to have a private moment. Though Sameer owns a sweet mart, his relationship is nothing but bitter anymore. Eventually, Sheetal can’t take it anymore. She insists they move out but Sameer is adamant on his decision. Sheetal is as stubborn though and moves out of Sameer’s life and home to attend Preet’s 30th birthday celebration.

Lavanya is a scaredy cat working as an engineer whose decisions are influenced by her anxieties while Rishabh is a struggling hotel franchise owner. Their relationship is mostly smooth, their wedding however isn’t. Lavanya’s complicated feelings towards Arjun have messed it up but Rishabh is yet to know it. On the other hand, Melroy is fed up with his no-show boyfriend, Yavar. He’s trying to make it work with Yavar but the latter is still closeted and confused. When Yavar’s family decides to marry him off, he knows he has reached his limit but still can’t admit that he’s gay. For the first time, Melroy doesn’t take him back and braves heartache.

Why Is Rishabh Arrested?

Sheetal and Sameer’s relationship problems aside, Shahid suffers from abandonment issues. Those issues stem deeper when his friends, especially the popular singer Arjun, do not show up at his new job. His relationship with his fellow teacher runs smoothly but with his friends, Shahid is rather disappointed. And he doesn’t take it easy on either of them. Watching his extravagant friends drowning shot after shot, his frustration gets the better of him and starts quarrelling with everyone including Mel and Rishabh.

She has been harbouring feelings towards Arjun from…well, forever. While Arjun enjoys his privacy and bachelorette life more, he too shares a fraction of Lavanya’s feelings. Rishabh, on the other hand, reciprocates fully. Yet, tackling the vegetarian and non-vegetarian food issues, Lavanya and Rishabh finally got married. When Shahid reveals Lavanya and Arjun’s alleged relationship, all hells break loose literally.

Preet’s birthday is spoilt entirely when a fire breaks out and they all have to vacate the premises, still shouldering the weight of Shahid’s revelations and accusations. Rishabh is brimming with anger when Arjun walks towards them, weaving the media who accuse him of Yuv Singh Maharaj being his father. As soon as he arrives, the predictions made by that magician come true. Rishabh should have been beware of his so-called brother, Arjun. Now, he is arrested for misdemeanour and fire.
