Doctor Cha Episode 3 Recap And Ending Explained: It Is A Hazy Cocktail Of Four!

How often have we heard about the phrase “the third wheel”? Countless by now, right? In this Netflix‘s latest medical drama, Doctor Cha, Jung-Sook takes this phrase to another level by making her husband’s girlfriend, Seung-Hee, realize that she is a third wheel albeit unknowingly. The leading protagonist of the show, as we all know, is Jung-Sook, a simple housewife whose life flips over suddenly. After Jung-Sook is diagnosed with acute hepatitis, her life is sent on a whirlwind. She is no longer the demure housewife and is now a medical resident!

In the past two episodes, the makers, Kim Dae-Jin and Kim Jung-Woo have been teasing us with Jung-Sook and Seung-Hee’s face-off. In this hazy episode, the explosion occurs! Let us begin with Doctor Cha Episode 3 recap and ending explained and discuss the spicy clash between these two!

Following the tradition, Doctor Cha Episode 3 commences with Jung-Sook’s accusatory glare. When she peers at her fellow applicants, Jung-Sook is quite nervous. As she sits down for the interview, she is a different person though. Jung-Sook has much to lose and with her dignity at stake, she is ready to go all in. Her confidence radiates as she answers the questions and her smile is contagious as she walks out of the interview room.

Since Jung-Min has taken a day off for the interview, too, Jung-Sook has at least someone to support her. Of course, the only thing that Jung-Min could achieve perfectly was driving a car and taking orders probably. He chauffeurs Jung-Sook to Seung-Hee and the drama unfolds!

If it were anyone else, the drama would have included some accusations and verbal whiplash at least. Since it is the polite Dr Cha Jung-Sook, she won’t do any of it. Jung-Sook simply meets with Seung-Hee and talks about random stuff but her doubts are clear and so is her confidence. Though it is not by far the most heated argument, it is enough to make Jung-Sook stand a head taller than Seung-Hee.

Doctor Cha Episode 3 Recap

Doctor Cha Episode 3 Recap And Ending Explained

Initially, Jung-Sook wasn’t finalised but then, circumstances changed and everything fell into place. A second-year resident, who was finalised for the job, quit and joined the army over a breakup. And Gusan University Hospital had no applicants other than Jung-Sook left. Here is how a reserved housewife has become a trending topic at Gusan University Hospital.

While watching Jung-Sook in that white coat, bearing a bright smile is a delight, witnessing her husband, In-Ho’s reaction, is the icing on the cake! In-Ho, who is a practising doctor and a professor at the same hospital, nearly doubles over. He is utterly shocked to witness Jung-Sook and his girlfriend, Seung-Hee, in the same place. In-Ho’s shock triples over when Dr Kim joins the hospital!

Dr Roy Kim, the surgeon who performed Jung-Sook’s liver transplant, has joined Gusan University Hospital. In-Ho, being the self-centred person he is, asks Kim not to disclose their family dynamics to anyone. Why? Because he doesn’t want anyone to know Jung-Sook is his wife. Of course, he is just trying to appease his girlfriend and save himself from trouble. Though Kim agrees, the four of them on the same premise is a hilarious combination!

Jung-Sook Is Undeterred And Ready To Fight Back

There are hardly two people, Kim and Jung-Sook’s best friend, Mi-Hee, who support her. Ah, there is her mother, Deok-Rye, on the list too. After In-Ho has tried his best to withhold Jung-Sook’s ambitions, his mother, Ae Sim, is no different. She has bullied Jung-Sook for 20 years and now, when Jung-Sook is trying to fulfil her long-lost dream, Ae Sim isn’t able to bear that.

After In-Ho and Jung-Min have failed to stop Jung-Sook, her daughter, Yi-Rang, doesn’t stay behind either. She accuses Jung-Sook of abandoning her when she is in the 12th grade. Yi-Rang throws a fit that nearly chips away Jung-Sook’s armour. But then, Jung-Sook takes charge again and doesn’t let Yi-Rang hold her back.

When everyone else has tried, how can you expect Ae Sim to stay behind? She takes this game a level ahead and tries to manipulate Jung-Sook’s mother using Jung-Sook’s flail health as bait. Since Deok-Rye isn’t as polite and affectionate as Jung-Sook, she isn’t as easy to control. In the end, no matter who tries and how hard they try, Jung-Sook remains undeterred in her goal.

Doctor Cha Episode 3 Ending: A Fit Of Laughter Concealing True Emotions

Doctor Cha Episode 3 Recap And Ending Explained

Kim is the most sorted man in this K-drama. It is highlighted when he tries to support Jung-Sook at the end of the day–the first day at the hospital for both of them. He contributes to one of the best moments of the episode when he asks Jung-Sook about her nonexistent divorce. Of course, Jung-Sook laughs at his face and rectifies Kim’s belief. But the idea is out there and the circumstances are building towards it. It is only fair that Jung-Sook balances the personal aspect of her life once she has settled into a professional role.

Talking about that, the entire staff of Gusan University Hospital decides to go out for drinks. All of them are enjoying themselves, toasting to several things but it is In-Ho that is the most uncomfortable. Though In-Ho sends Jung-Min to stop Jung-Sook, it is to no avail. Jung-Sook and Kim sit beside each other and enjoy themselves when a colleague starts to appraise In-Ho.

She claims that In-Ho deserves to be accredited with the Nobel Peace Prize for being such a great husband. Laughter bubbles inside Jung-Sook and explodes like a destructive bomb. Jung-Sook laughs uncontrollably leaving Kim to hide his smirk and In-Ho his embarrassment at the end of Doctor Cha Episode 3.
