Created by Eliot Laurence, Claws is an American comedy-drama TV series that first aired on Turner Network Television (TNT) on 11th June 2017. Viewers can also watch it on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. The show is set in Palmetto, Florida and most of its episodes are filmed in New Orleans. It has an average rating of 7.4/10 on IMDb and 88% of Google users liked the show. Claws were originally developed as a single-camera comedy show for HBO. The series also includes a touch of dark comedy and crime drama genres.

All four seasons of this series contain 10 half-hour episodes each. The first season started its filming on 13th December 2016. By the end of season 1, the show was immediately renewed for a second season which was released on 10th June 2018. A year later, on 9th June 2019, the third season of Claws was released. Right after, it was renewed for a fourth season. But due to the ongoing pandemic, the production company had to shut it down. As filming resumed in 2020, the show finally premiered on 19th December 2021.

Because of the ongoing pandemic and the ratings of the show gradually decreasing, the show premiered its last and final season 4 in December 2021. The show was canceled after that and as of now, there is no news regarding Claws Season 5 renewal and release date. The finale of season 4 wrapped up the storyline satisfactorily and since then, it seems that the creators are done with the show. Future developments on this show are highly unlikely.

Claws All Seasons Recap

The plot of Claws revolves around five diverse and hardworking manicurists who run the Nail Artisans salon. The salon is located in Manatee County, Florida, and is owned by Desna. The other staff members of the salon include her best friend, Jennifer along with Ann, Virginia, and Polly. Ann provides security to the salon while Polly is an ex-convict who soon gets bored of her job.

Along with managing the Salon, Desna also takes care of her mentally ill brother, Dean. On the other hand, Jennifer has two children from her previous relationship. When the five of them find it difficult to make their ends meet, they enter the world of organized crime. Soon, they start laundering money for a pain clinic in the neighborhood. When the ruthless head of the Husser crime family, Uncle Daddy withholds some of Desna’s money, she blames it on her shady redneck boyfriend, Roller. He is also the adopted son of Uncle Daddy.

When Jennifer’s ex-husband and ambulance coach, Bryce is back in the picture, things become as shady as ever. Desna finds out that Roller has been cheating on her with Virginia and attempts to kill him. Later in the show, it is revealed why Desna is trying so hard to build a better life for herself and her brother. Along with Desna, the secrets of other characters are also spilled one by one.

Based on reviews on sites like IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic, the first two seasons of Claws had a very positive response. The average rating on IMDb was around 7.3 out of 10. After 30-40 people liked the show on Rotten Tomatoes, the likes percentage stood at 80%. However, season 3 and season 4 did not have a much positive response among the viewers. This also might be one of the reasons why the show was canceled.
