We have seen dramas about the daily life works of various people, who do basic household chores and other jobs to earn their livelihood. But rarely do we come across a show that talks about a man who does daily household works in the most unique way possible, sounds strange right ?. But yes, this is the story about the ingenuity of the Househusband. The show is a live-action version of Japanese anime series of the same name and theme called the way of the Househusband, which follows the story of a gangster, who has retired from his work and now spends time at home doing daily life chores where he understands the importance of simple living and finding happiness in doing little things.
The show stars Kenijo Tasda who also happens to voice Tatsu the lead character of the animated series. The animated show was released in April 2021 and had five episodes in it, which was again adapted from a manga of the same name which was written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono. Each episode of the show follows multiple short stories in the life of Tatsu.

There were talks on Netflix to make a live-action version of the way of the Househusband, which was finally announced in 2020 and the series got released on 29th August 2021 and has 10 episodes in it. The length of episodes is very short and ranges from 4 minutes to 7 minutes maximum, show Managed to earn mixed to good reviews from the audience and critics with an average rating of 6.7 out of 10 on IMDb, the show was Praised for creating a meditative atmosphere and it’s visuals.
The show was also praised for its simplicity and fun element which would surely bring smiles to your faces. There have been no official announcements made by Netflix about the next season of the show, but the second season of the animated series was announced and got premiered on Netflix on 7th October 2021, we could expect an announcement regarding the next season of live-action version and it could premiere somewhere mid-2022.

The Ingenuity of the Househusband follows the story of Tsuda, who is a former gangster and has now retired from his job to live peacefully, he is a tough guy but is kind-hearted. After his retirement, he likes to do all the daily life household chores that he did not do during his gangster days, but now as he lives alone he finds happiness and satisfaction in doing all those simple jobs such as cooking and laundry. He is now leading a peaceful life and really enjoying the true meaning of life by doing all the daily life works.

The Ingenuity of the Househusband Season 1 Recap
In the first episode, we see Tasuda in his house, where he is trying to learn various steps to properly sharpen a knife, he then learns it and applies it, when he gets success in it he makes himself a cup of coffee. Then, in the next episode, we see that Tasuda is having a quiet moment where he is enjoying his tea but got interrupted by the annoying sound of a torn Shoji screen door and he has no other way other than fixing it. In the third episode, we see Tasuda coming across some strains on his clothes while doing laundry and he finds ways to get rid of them. During the fourth episode, he has to clean a dirty baseball, so he searches around the entire house in order to find a solution for it.
After a party at his home Tasuda collects all the garbage and puts them incorrect dustbins, he then receives a good amount of pork as a gift which he tries to grill and then enjoys his meal. One day he suddenly feels hungry that’s when he decides to learn and make his own udon noodles from scratch. On one of the days, Tsuda decides not to do anything and just relax but it becomes more difficult due to boredom, one day he decides to do the entire cleaning of his house as the voice acting job he was doing has sidelined him. And during the last episode, we see how he celebrates a successful day at work by making a delicious meal for himself.

The star cast of the show comprises just one member who is Kenjiro Tsuda, is a Japanese actor, voice actor, narrator, and film director. He is known to give voices to many anime characters and dubbed for famous Hollywood films.
