The Simpsons is a popular animated television Program which has received a lot of appreciation and criticism throughout the years, ever since its release. The series features the odd Simpson family and their odd friends, characters, stars and neighbours. The series has lost its spark since its release and is seen to have fallen in the animation quality in some parts, but nevertheless, there are still many seasons in the franchise which are worth watching. Season 27

The Simpsons season 27 aired on Fox in the United States from 27th September, 2015, to 22nd May, 2016. The series has a total of 26 episodes. The season premiered, showing Homer’s story as he gets diagnosed with narcolepsy and his illness is followed by his breakup with Marge and he later falls in love with a pharmacist. There are many guest stars in the show. Some of them include Blake Anderson, Kristen Bell, David Copperfield, Lena Dunham, Kelsey Grammer, Nick Kroll, Yo-Yo Ma, Edward James Olmos, Kevin Micheal Richardson and George Takei. Carl Zealer also won an award in a competition to be animated in the show, featured in the episode ‘Halloween of Horror’.

The Simpsons Season 18 premiered on the Fox Network on 10th September, 2006, and ended on 20th May, 2007, with a total of 22 episodes. The first episode features Homer allowing Fat Tony to shoot a movie. Marge is angry and goes to meet the attractive marine biologist Caleb Thorn. The Simpsons Season 20 premiered on the Fox Network on 28th September, 2008, and ended on 17th May, 2009, with a total of 21 episodes. The first episode featured Homer’s life as a bounty hunter, after he serves his jail sentence and is released. Marge gets a job at a bakery shop run by an Irish man. The Simpsons Season 11 premiered on the Fox Network on 26th September, 1999 and ended on 21st May, 2000. The series has a total of 22 episodes and won an Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Animated Program’, an Annie award and a British Comedy award. The first episode of the season featured The Simpsons, who are given free tickets to Mel Gibson’s new film. Mel Gibson wants to hear criticism for his work and has a talk with Marge. Homer hears their conversation and volunteers to give a brutal and honest review. Mel is surprised and thinks Homer is the only person who can give him honest criticism. Homer gets hired by him. The Simpsons Season 9 premiered on the Fox Network on 21st September, 1997 and ended on 17th May, 1998. The series has 25 episodes and won three Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Animated Program. The first episode of the season starts with Homes allowing Barney to use his car. He disappears with the car and appears after two months without the car. Barney searches for his car and receives a letter from the City of New York, where the car is found. He has some bad experiences in the city and hates the idea of going there, but his family is excited. While he is waiting for the officer to show up and remove the wheel clamp, he feels the urgency to go to the toilet and misses the officer. Annoyed, he takes the car with its clamp on. Season 13

The Simpsons Season 13 premiered on the Fox Network on 6th November, 2001, and ended on 22nd May, 2002. The series has a total of 22 episodes and won an Annie award for ‘Best Animated Television Production’. The first episode of the series featured three different stories. Hex and the City where Homer gets in the bad books of a gypsy, who instantly cures Homer’s family and friends to have terrible luck. Second, the House of Whacks, where the custom house with the personality of Pierce Brosnan falls for Marge and attempts to murder Homer. Season 1

The first season of The Simpsons aired on the Fox Network on 17th December,1989, and ended on 13th May 1990. The series began as the Simpsons were sitting together in a Christmas special, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire”. Bart gets a tattoo and on realising it, Marge uses their family’s hard-earned savings to get it removed. Homer is short of money to buy presents because of their financial condition and he, along with Bart, bet some money on a dog who ends up losing and Homer allows Bart to adopt him. They bring the dog back home and Homer tries to come clean about their situation with their family when Bart says they are having a dog as their Christmas present and the family has a Merry Christmas. The series has a total of 13 episodes and won an Emmy Award. The series featured Roy Taylor, Susan Blu, Miriam Flynn, Cristian Coffinet, Penny Marshall, June Foray and Paul Willson as the guest cast.

The first episode of the season is a Halloween special, featuring The Simpsons in a story where everyone except Lisa gets killed. Season 14

The Simpsons Season 14 premiered on the Fox Network on 3rd November, 2002, and ended on 18th May, 2003. The season has a total of 22 episodes and won two Primetime Emmy Awards, including ‘Outstanding Animated Program’ and four Annie awards and a Writer’s Guild of America Award. The first episode of the series featured an episode with three segments, Send in the Clones, where Homer buys a hammock which is capable of producing clones. He uses them to help with the house, but soon the situation overturns, and Springfield faces the consequences. The Fright to Creep and Scare Harms, which features Lisa petitioning to make the town firearms free, after she discovers the body of William Bonney, who died from gun violence.

The Island of Dr Hibbert, where the citizens of Springfieldare turned into animals after accepting the offer of Dr Hibbert to visit an Island Resort. Season 10

The Simpsons Season 10 premiered on the Fox Network on 23rd August, 1998, and ended on 16th May, 1999. The season has 23 episodes in total and has won the Annie Award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Television Program’. The first episode of the season features a new student in Lisa’s class. Alex Whiteney is mature, trendy and has an amazing personality. She has the attention of Lisa’s classmates and Lisa, who is now left alone, is jealous. She, her friends and Alex decide to host a dance organised by their school and during the process, Lisa realises her friends and Alex are not as mature as they try to be.

Homer tries to convince Bart to dropout from school. Season 5

The Simpsons Season 5 premiered on the Fox Network on 30th September, 1993, and ended on 19th May, 1994. The season has a total of 22 episodes and won an Annie award for Best Animated Television Program, along with an Environmental Media Award and a Genesis award. The first episode featured Homer’s flashback, as he thinks of a barbershop which he used to visit, called The Be Sharps. He, along with a few more, was a part of a famous group who even won a Grammy. Homer misses his family and the group loses its popularity, causing them to disband. The first episode features three different stories; Reaper Madness, where Homer lands on the job of a Grim Reaper after he killed the previous reaper. He goes around awarding immortality to everyone and has great fun until he notices the next name on his list, which turns out to be of Marge. Frankenstein, Prof. Frink wins the Nobel Prize in science and is sad that his dear father is not around to celebrate with him. He decides to rebuild himself in his father’s real body using mechanical parts. The outproduct who hates the idea, after coming to life, searches to steal the body parts of other corpses. Stop the World, I Want to Goof Off. Bart and Milhouse order a stopwatch using a comic, which has the power to change and play with time. Jerry Lewis, Dudley Herschback, Jennifer Garner, Oscar De La Hoya, Glenn Close, Michael Moore, Jane Leaves, Tony Blair, Evan Marriott, J.K. Season 7

The Simpsons Season 7 premiered on the Fox Network on 17th September, 1995 and ended on 19th May, 1996. The season has a total of 25 episodes and won an Annie Award for Best Animated Television Program. The first episode features Mr Smithers believing that he is the one who shot Mr Burns in a drunken state and turns himself in. He is proven not guilty and the police further their investigation into other suspects. They reach the Simpsons after Homer’s DNA is found on Mr Burns’ body. Homer escapes and Lisa searches for evidence proving him not guilty. Mr Burns wakes up and says Homer Simpson, which strengthens their doubts. Tito Puente, Mickey Rooney, Phil Hartman, Joan Kenley, Frank Welker, Paul McCartney, Linda McCartney, Paul Anka, Joan Kenley, Glenn Close, Harry Morgan, Kelsey Grammer, R. The third season of The Simpsons aired on the Fox Network on 19th September, 1991 and ended on 22nd August, 1992. The first episode is called ‘Stark Raving Dad’ and Homer’s sanity is evaluated in this episode. He is later admitted to a mental hospital where he meets Micheal Jackson. Season 6

The first episode features Bart and Lisa trying to convince Homer to buy them a swimming pool, which will help them survive the intensive heat. Bart breaks his leg from a fall and Lisa gives him her telescope so he is not bored. Lisa gets popular with the kids because of her swimming pool, but her happiness is short-lived as a kid buys a bigger pool and all the attention gets directed towards him. Bart witnesses a shocking scene from the telescope and asks for Lisa’s help to reveal the truth. Anne Bancrofy, Mel Brooks, Kelsey Grammer, Phil Hartman, Larry King, Susan Sarandon, Patrick Stewart, Meryl Streep and Winona Ryder gave their voices and appeared as guest stars in this season.

The Simpsons Season 4 premiered on the Fox Network on 24th September, 1992 and ended on 13th May 1993. The season has a total of 22 episodes and won one Primetime Emmy Award. The first episode of the season features Bart and Lisa, who go to Kamp Krusty to have some time alone away from their parents. The camp doesn’t turn out as expected and all the kids in the camp are treated horribly and are bullied. They start a rebellion, following Bart, and this news reaches Homer. The real Krusty appears and, in order to make up with the kids, he takes them to Tijuana, Mexico.
