12th Fail movie is based on the non-fictional book of the same name by Anurag Pathak. The movie centers around the character Manoj Kumar Sharma who was born in Chambal to a mere clerk. Manoj Kumar Sharma is a real-life person as we mentioned earlier. This movie about Manoj’s journey to become an UPSC aspirant and later a dignified IPS officer.
Manoj’s journey started with this Class 12 exams. At first, he made cheat slips for his exam. However, he could not pass the exams because of officer Dushyant Singh. Officer Dushyant Singh inspires him to become an officer like him. Therefore, this marks the beginning of Manoj’s journey.
He visits Gwalior, meets Pritam and later reaches Delhi where he meets the famous Gauri Bhaiya. Although Gauri Bhaiya is not a real-life person, he played a significant role in the movie. It is partially due to Gauri Bhaiya’s effort and help that Manoj is ultimately able to pass the UPSC exams finally.
At the end of the movie, we see that Manoj becomes an IPS officer and marries his love interest Shradhha. He fell in love with Shraddha at Gauri Bhaiya’s coaching institute. Therefore, the movie definitely ends on a good note for everybody including Pritam as he begins to pursue his dream of becoming a reporter.
