The original incident took place in the year 1985. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was the founder of the bear. It happened that the bear ate a high amount of cocaine which led to its untimely death. You must be wondering how did the bear get cocaine in the first place? Well, the bear was not smuggling cocaine for sure. It did not even know that something like cocaine existed. Probably, it was just hungry and considered the packets of cocaine to be something eatable. Consequently, it consumed a high amount of cocaine which led to its death.
How did the cocaine reach the bear? A person named Andrew Thorton was behind all of this. He was flying a plane that contained packets of cocaine. Essentially, he was a smuggler, and he was smuggling cocaine. It was during this time that some packets of cocaine were accidentally dropped from the plane. Andrew Thorton is not alive if you are thinking so. He died on 11th September. His body was found in the backyard of a random house in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Although the story has been inspired by the said events, the entire film revolves around fictional events. Unlike the actual bear that died due to an overdose of cocaine, the bear in the film is shown to be carrying out crazy acts after overdosing on cocaine. This whole point makes the movie hilarious but at the same time scary as well.
There are bloody scenes included in the film. Cocaine Bear also has several funny moments. The way the CGI bear attacks the people out of nowhere is kind of funny. The fact that the bear got hold of the cocaine packets that were accidentally dropped by a flying plane has been taken from the original incidents. After overdosing on cocaine, the bear goes on a crazy killing spree. It starts to kill whomever it sees.
