Since the book got published in 2020, the writer wanted to convert it into a film. It was in 2020 that she took the decision to come up with a film adaptation of the book. As a result, she immediately came in contact with several production companies in Hollywood. Finally, Arvin Chen took up the story and directed the film Love In Taipei. Arvin Chen stated that he found the story of the book quite relatable to his own life. Hence, without any further delay, he decided to direct the film and present it to the audience.

Similarly, Ever Wong too wants freedom in her life but she is not allowed to. However, on one fine day, her parents sign up for a cultural immersion program named “Chien Tan”. Here, Ever Wong will be alone, away from her parents for a period of time. It is here that she is going to explore herself and her surroundings.

Ever Wong is an Asian American child. She currently resides in Ohio. The cultural immersion program is going to take her to Taiwan so that she can know her culture better. However, more than knowing her own grass-roots, she is going to know herself in this program. Ever is going to explore her life and know herself better. This program has several other students whom Ever is going to befriend. This program will also include boys making the entire trip all the more eventful for Ever Wong.

The cast of Love in Taipei includes Ashley Liao as Ever Wong, the famous Ross Butler as Rick Woo, Chelsea Shang as Sophie Ha and Nico Hiraga as Xavier Yeh.
