Is 80 For Brady Based On A True Story? Fandom Of The Oldies!

Sport is an indispensable part of our lives. Among all the other sports, when it comes to football, there comes a different emotion mixed with it. According to the stereotypical point of view, men are the only ones who are interested in sports and can form bonds of friendship with other men over this topic. However, the recent 2023 film, 80 For Brady, has changed the scenario. It is a story about a group of women who are crazy fans of football and can do anything about it. Breaking the stereotypical point of view of society, 80 For Brady has set a new mark in the Hollywood industry.

Is 80 For Brady Based On A True Story?

The film 80 For Brady was released on 3rd February 2023. It is a movie about a group of four women friends who love football and Tom Brady. These women are Lou, Maura, Trish and Betty. All of them are quite old, but their love for football is not. It is not uncommon for people to become close friends when they are participating enthusiastically in one particular fandom. The same thing happens with all these four ladies. 80 For Brady is a sports-comedy film revolving around how these four ladies fulfil their dreams of attending Super Bowl LI, which was held in 2017.

If you have watched the film, you will know that it has been made beautifully. The film is comic as well as emotional during certain scenes. You will be shocked to know that the film is based on a real-life story. However, the number of women shown in the film is different from the true story. The film is based on the real-life friend group of Elain St. Martin, Betty Pensavalle, Anita Riccio, Claire Boardman, and Pat Marx. The actual story of the film originated from the story of these five friends.

Except for Claire, all of the other four friends are currently alive and are in their 90s. Since Boardman is not present in the scenario anymore, the filmmakers decided that they would not include her for obvious reasons. Although it has been shown in the film that the women get to attend the Super Bowl finally, in reality, they never attended it. Nevertheless, this does not mean that they lost their enthusiasm for the game. They have been friends with one another for 72 years, which proves that their friendship is not so weak that it will break all of a sudden.

80 For Brady Storyline

The storyline of 80 For Brady is quite interesting. People who have immense love for football will be able to relate to this movie extremely. It shows the story of four old ladies, Lou, Trish, Maura, and Betty, who have not lost their love for football. They want to continue supporting their loved team despite their old age. Love for football can be understood as an escape for the old ladies.

After the death of their husbands, since they did not have anything to do at their homes, these ladies bonded over football all the more. They were already friends from the beginning and supported the team New England Patriots. Throughout the cinema, we understand that they are crazy fans of Tom Brady. Their love for the quarterback made Lou buy fake tickets for the Super Bowl LI of 2017 unknowingly. However, even with that, they were able to enter the stadium and make their favourite team win the game. If you want to know how they did that, you will have to watch the movie as soon as possible.

80 For Brady Sequel

There is no chance for a sequel of 80 For Brady, to be very honest. The ladies on whom the film is based are extremely old, and there are no more stories on which a sequel can be made. Hence, we cannot expect that a sequel of 80 For Brady is going to be released. If part 2 of the movie even comes out, which is highly unlikely, it will probably be based on some completely different story with a similar kind of background.
