When money flows in abundance, boredom often accompanies it. And what this boredom could lead to? Adventures and loss of conscience as demonstrated by Netflix’s latest Swedish comedy-drama, Barracuda Queens. Manifested by Amanda Adolfsson, this substantial drama follows a group of young girls who resort to burglary and lying due to debt. Encompassed in the guild of debt, these girls are set on an adventurous journey of robbing their filthy rich neighbours. With their parents being one of those riches, they aren’t easy to suspect and even tough to be held accountable.
Even though it isn’t been a long time since Barracuda Queens Season 1 was released, questions regarding a follow-up season are flourishing seamlessly. Fans are wondering whether Netflix has already approved the sequel. For all those fans, here are the recent updates regarding Barracuda Queens Season 2.
Barracuda Queens Season 2 Release Date
Set in Djursholm, this Swedish series follows five best friends aka the Barracuda Queens–Lollo, Klara, Frida, Mia and Amina. After Klara finds herself submerged in debt due in three weeks, she sets aside her morals and law principles to steal a watch. One burglary needs to another and these overly-privileged, modern-day Robin Hoods start robbing the rich in pursuit of justice and self-discovery. Students in the daytime, and thieves at night, this gang quickly becomes notorious in their small suburban town.
Season 1 premiered on Netflix on June 5, 2023, with 6 episodes to its name. As for Barracuda Queens Season 2, Netflix is yet to comment. The director, Amanda Adolfsson, hasn’t specified any plans regarding the sequel either. But given the cliffhangers Season, 1 has left us with, Barracuda Queens Season 2 is highly possible bordering the realms of inevitability. If the production begins soon, expect Barracuda Queens Season 2 to arrive on Netflix in late 2024 or early 2025.

Barracuda Queens Season 2 Plot: What Could The Series Be About?
When Lollo, Klara, Frida and Mia joined forces with the artistic genius, Amina, they didn’t realize what they were getting themselves into. They might be disguising their robberies as revenge but in the end, the Barracuda Queens are thieves. And like every thief out there, these girls also have a dedicated police officer spying on them. Though Lollo’s mother, Margareta helped her daughter and the rest of the girls, their journey isn’t complete yet.
At the surface, Barracuda Queens might be about a girl gang who consider themselves knights in shining armour but as you dig deeper, you’ll discover what Adolfsson is tackling with. Mia is caught up with her financial conditions. Lollo is bored out of her mind. Klara is done being the prim-and-proper girl her parents expect her to be. Frida is in the throes of teenage and is absolutely reckless. Meanwhile, Amina is just a mischievous art nerd. Their issues might be different, but their approach to channelling their inner beasts is the same.
Barracuda Queens Season 2 will most probably deal with the fallout of this girl gang. It will deal with the complicated relationships the parents of these girls have surrounded themselves with. And yes, it will be brimming with emotional drama, tangled relationships and more burglaries of course.
Barracuda Queens Season 2 Cast And Character Guide
At the heart of Barracuda Queens are five strong-headed, tough, independent women. The series is laden with a star-studded cast and is led by Louise Millkvist aka Lolla. Portrayed by Alva Bratt, Lolla is the one who started it all. Though Klara Rapp (Tindra Monsen) was the one who robbed a watch first, the idea of being knights at night is Lolla’s idea. Klara is a law student who has a strong conscience but due to her debt and later other issues, she gives in and joins the robberies.
Klara’s little sister, Frida (Sandra Zubovic) has a tinge of innocence to her but is flooded with teenage mischief. On the other hand, Mia (Tea Stjarne) is probably the most fearsome out of the five. Amina Khalil (Sarah Gustafsson) is the richest and is the most devious as well. Aside from these five major characters, most of Season 1’s cast including Margareta (Izabella Scorcuppo), Viveca (Mirja Turestdt), Lars (Carsten Bjornlund) and others would be reprising their roles in Barracuda Queens Season 2.
