This medical melodrama is centred around the only triple-board certified surgeon in South Korea, Boo Yong-Joo (Han Suk-Kyu). He was Seoul’s most-respected surgeon working at the most-reputed hospital in Seoul, Geosan University Hospital. He has always had a mushy heart and enjoyed helping his patients however he can. Yong-Joo took an intern under his wing and developed a strong bond with him. But then, Boo’s disciple went through a tragic accident. A crestfallen Yong-Joo then left the hospital and swore off disciples.
He joined a small hospital entitled Doldam under the name Kim Sa-Bu. He served at Doldam for a while, laying low and nursing his torn heart. Kim then came across Kang Dong-Joo (Yoo Yeon-Seok) and Yoon Seo-Jeong (Seo Hyun-Jin). Dong-Joo was transported to Doldam Hospital after he fails to perform surgery. After Kang confesses his love for her, she is shaken up and blames it on her feelings that her fiance is dead. Seo-Jeong arrived at Doldam after being hit in a car accident with his now-dead fiance.
These love birds and Kim makes up the lead characters of the series and takes us on a sweet ride. This season takes place three years later Season 2 is set in and makes Kim’s dream come true. Doldam Hospital now has a Trauma Center with Kim’s identity still a secret. Doctor Romantic Season 3 Episode 4 and the upcoming episodes will probably unveil Kim Sa-Bu’s identity.
