Taboo Season 2 Release Date
The huge names of British cinema, Steven Knight, Tom Hardy and Chips Hardy have collaborated together to breathe Tom and Chips’ imagination to life. Taboo has been the dream project of the Chips father-son duo. Knight has brought forward this historical drama to the audience. Needless to say, the collaboration was a massive hit and Taboo went as far as receiving 4 stellar awards and being nominated for more than 10 accolades.
In late 2021, BBC One’s Taboo received approval for another season. Knight is gearing for two more but only one is confirmed yet. However, it has been almost two years and a confirmed release date is yet to be announced. That does not come off as a surprise though given that Knight has been working on other projects and Hardy has a plethora of films and series’ lined up. Steven has confirmed that the filming for Taboo Season 2 would commence at the end of 2023. Taboo Season 2 release date is expected to fall in the spring 2024 window.
Taboo Season 2: What Will Be The Plot?
The universe of Taboo revolves around a myriad of concepts ranging from supernatural powers to impactful realism without leaving historical aspects out. It is the journey of James Keziah Delaney (Tom Hardy) as he returns from Africa to Britain in the 80s. Though perceived to be dead, Delaney shows up at his father, Horace’s funeral. Since Horace has left a piece of land behind him, Delaney aspires to acquire it but his half-sister is already in the process of selling it. The buyer is none other than the infamous East India Company and the land, Nootka Sound, is stuck in a dispute between Britain and the United States.
Exploring the deadly face of the East India Company, simultaneously protecting his life and inheritance from the vultures, Delaney has successfully conquered his land. In Taboo Season 2, Delaney is expected to embark on a journey towards Nootka Sound and explore a different culture. The audience has witnessed Delaney as a British man, it is time we all get excited for James to discover and highlight more of the United States’ culture and corruption.

Taboo is a solid blow at corruption, violence, two-faceted people and the notorious East India Company. The 8-episode series has delivered a commendable blend of the genres. While the Hardy men deserve to be credited and Steven Knight couldn’t be appreciated enough for making Taboo happen, the cast members should be applauded for their remarkable performance, too.

He is a mysterious, aggressive and highly sarcastic personality that fights for his rights against the most popular business company.
