If the makers keep walking on the same track, there would be nothing new but half-baked answers to the steaming questions Season 2 left us with.
Assuming that there would be something new this season, I believe the creators would put their entire focus on Astrid and her downfall. Ever since Gorriz and Lopez welcome us to the mesmerizing island, Eden, they have been hinting at the downfall of Astrid, the cult leader who has kidnapped the influencers and is holding them hostage. It could also revolve around Zoa and Bel’s relationship aside from making Africa’s pregnancy a major story arc. Welcome To Eden Season 3 has potential and a surmountable fanbase that awaits confirmation from the makers.

I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said Welcome To Eden has over 15 main cast members that are at the centre of the storyline. Keeping up with all of these cast members is no easy feat but as you get acquainted with this cult classic, you will be able to differentiate between the characters easily.
Beginning with the main protagonist of the series, Zoa Rey is portrayed by Amaia Aberasturi. Zoa is a determined tough nut but as hard as her exterior is, she is quite mushy on the inside. Though Zoa has faced issues with her family, she is now determined to return to them. The next in line is Zoa’s ally, Bel, who is stuck with Zoa on the island. Bel is cosplayed by Begona Vargas.
The woman who is ruling the Eden Foundation, Astrid is enacted by Amaia Salamanca. Astrid is the leader of the cult and is looking forward to establishing a new world entitled New Eden. She is married to Erick, who is a super-rich, super-unloyal and super-confused man, portrayed by Guillermo Pfening. After an argument with Astrid, Erick went on to live with Africa, enacted by Belinda and has her pregnant now.

Welcome To Eden Season 1: A Quick Glance At What All We Have Seen In The Debut Season
While you might have an idea what the series is about, it is certain that keeping up with the pace of the series isn’t an easy endeavour. So, let me break it down for you! Welcome To Eden commenced in the spring of 2022 and introduced us to Zoa. She is a fairly simple woman but her circumstances aren’t. Zoa is considered to be an ATM by her mother who is a junkie and Zoa is tired of putting up with her. One day, she gets a mysterious task and an invitation to an exclusive party–the only condition is Zoa cannot reveal this to anyone and has to sign a contract.
If this doesn’t raise warning bells, what does? Okay, not commenting about Zoa’s desperation or dumbness but moving forward to Judith. She is Zoa’s best friend who tags along with her to the party where there are over 100 exclusive members. But there are only five of them who are considered by Astrid and her cult as wanton. Since all of these five influencers have trouble with familial issues, it is easy for Astrid to target them. The next morning, all the other partygoers have disappeared and only these five, Zoa, Africa, Ibon, Charly, Fran and Aldo, are left.
These five don’t realize they are caught by a cult entitled Eden Foundation until later. This cult gathers troubled people and brainwashes them. Their only motivation is to invent a new world entitled New Eden which Astrid’s father has once imagined. And since this is a fantasy sci-fi, you cannot leave the cliche aliens out.
What Did Welcome To Eden Season 2 Entail?
On their journey to escape the island, these five members try their best and are just about to leave when they are caught. This is a recurring plot until Zoa finally finds a way out but her sister, Gabi, ruins it or more like Astrid does by bringing Gabi onto the island. While Zoa is weakened, Astrid isn’t invincible either. She is losing hold of her cult and her husband, Erick’s trust. Also, at the end of Welcome To Eden Season 2, Astrid faces a blow from the past.
Som, the daughter of the man who killed Astrid’s father, has been dragged onto Eden Island. Danae has followed Som here and while Astrid isn’t aware, she is the one who killed Astrid’s father. Som’s presence might have been orchestrated by Astrid initially but as this sci-fi thriller hauls to a stop, it is evident that Som and Danae have ulterior motives. When Danae gains access to the computers of the cult, it is loud and clear Astrid’s downfall has begun. Welcome To Eden Season 3 will be resuming its course from here and portray Zoa’s struggle to escape and Astrid’s confrontation with her past and present deeds.

Welcome To Eden Review: A Huge Name With High Potential But Immensely Redundant
I wouldn’t be faulting the cast members for their acting skills since they contribute immensely to the intrigue of the show. Yes, the cast list could have been better but that’s not to say the current actors are worse by any fault. The main issue here is the redundant plot and lack of explanation from the writers’ side. Why are we continuously watching Zoa and the gang fight to get back and fail every time?
Well aside from that, there is also a glaring issue at us in the form of Astrid and her ideology. The makers have hinted at Astrid’s father’s sick mindset and idea of New Eden but aside from that, the makers are not paying attention to how the new world would be formed. And though Welcome To Eden is a leading name in the sci-fi genre, it is not the finest work. I would rate this series a 6 on 10 because of the efforts that have been put in to make this Welcome To Eden work.
