Manifested by Smriti Mundhra, Indian Matchmaking, is a Netflix original documentary-style romantic drama. Currently, in its third season, the series has left us with deep ringing questions. Indian Matchmaking Season 3 Review

Indian Matchmaking Season 3 Review And Ending Explained

Like the previous two seasons, Indian Matchmaking Season 3 commences with Sima as she opens her suitcase-cum-closet for her husband to see. Stuffing everything including snacks to tea powder, Sima has landed in London and embarked on a new season brimming with dramatic chaos. As the majority of the audience knows, Sima is one of the leading matchmakers who has spread her reach in several countries including India, America and now London.

Here, Sima catches up with several clients who want to try the traditional Indian way of meeting their special one. The first one, and probably the most intriguing client is Priya. She has a divorce behind her and is sick of not feeling that butterfly she initially craves. Now, she has knocked on Sima’s door for help. Then, we have Rushali, the Miss India finalist, who is tired of people judging her by her looks. While everyone around her sees her as a model, she wants someone to see her as the pyjama queen she is. Of course, that’s not an easy task.

Viral And Ashay Get Their Happy Ending But Anjali Is Yet To Find A Match

As Indian Matchmaking Season 3 moves forward, we are introduced to several Indians who reside in New Delhi and London and are now searching for their partners. The mesmerizing couple, Viral and Ashay, have hit it off. They are now moving back to India to start a new journey. While Priya is still struggling to narrow her list down, Arti and Bobby are facing no such problems. They have a sorted list but are unable to find someone who would checklist it.

Anjali, from the last season, is back again. Though she was rejected unexpectedly in the last season, she hasn’t stopped looking for a partner yet. She sifts through several people and lands with Vikash who is a complete extrovert and believes that he doesn’t want to be a checklist. Again, Anjali has to face disappointment. And Sima Aunty has to uplift her mood by reminding her of the adjustments that need to be made.

While some of the couples have hit it off, there are many singles who are yet looking for something meaningful. Be it Priya or Rushali, Indian Matchmaking Season 3 is yet to find a match for them. Or more like Sima Aunty is yet to pair them up with appropriate suitors. When she is unable to do so, Sima has an emotional meltdown in front of her husband. She goes on to claim how her family and husband have supported her throughout her journey and credit them for her success.

As Indian Matchmaking Season 3 climaxes, it leaves us with some beautiful couples and even more beautiful singles. And as the credits roll down, we know all of these singles would certainly find their soulmates soon enough.

Indian Matchmaking Season 3 Review: Nothing To Offer But Cringe-Worthy Insight And Unsolicited Advice

“Matches are made in heaven, not by trends.”

Probably the most beautiful and heart-warming line uttered by Sima Taparia. Though I should be emphasizing the other details first, I believe this dialogue needs to be credited enough. And edited, too.

“Matches are made in heaven, not by trends and by adjustments.”

Though Sima Taparia does a stellar job helping the Indian youth discover past traditions, is it necessary that each couple is the same? If our mothers made a sacrifice around 2 to 3 decades back, would we follow the same path? More importantly, why would we? I agree that no relationship can work smoothly without overlooking some mistakes and forgiving others. But I certainly don’t agree that anyone needs to tailor themselves to fit someone’s criteria or fit someone in their criteria.

Taparia constantly goes on ranting about the sacrifices and adjustments the Indian parents have made to stick together. Her words might not be as prominent to her as it is to the young Indian audience no matter where they reside. Other than her meddling behaviour and unsolicited advice, Indian Matchmaking Season 3 has some beautiful love stories to offer.

Be it accepting the other person as a significant other or be it getting out of the shell and admitting that we are looking for something serious, Indian Matchmaking highlights it perfectly. Now, regarding rating this series, Indian Matchmaking Season 3 stands at 6 on 10 for me.
