One More Time Movie Review And Ending Explained: Amelia And Fiona Patch Up?

What if I say you are stuck into a time loop and always wake up being 18 again? Would that be a nightmare or would you enjoy it? Well, it will be a nightmare for me. One More Time is a movie with the same story. It has just been streamed on Netflix, and we cannot wait to discuss more of this with you.

One More Time Movie Review

Let’s just start with how the movie is. Well, I am 100 percent sure you have definitely watched many time-loop movies where the main lead is stuck in a time loop. There are so many movies like that around us, so is One More Time worth it? I would probably have to say, the movie doesn’t top this genre, it’s simple, with no suspense, no thriller, just a sweet complicated storyline.

The suspense I saw were very predictable and the story was pretty predictable too. I am not saying it was very bad but the movies based on time loop out there, are much better than this. The acting of the cast was pretty average too. In addition to this, you will not see anything interesting or something that will make you stick until the end. The ending was very predictable but sweet. I hope many of you have already watched the movie and wondering what was the end about, so here’s an easy ending explained:

One More Time Ending Explained

The story revolves around a 40-year-old woman, Amelia who is totally alone in this phase of life whereas when she was 18 everyone was all over her. It’s her birthday and she always thinks what if she could turn 18 and enjoy that phase of life again?

Amelia is at the bar drinking her tensions off when she meets her high school friend, Fiona who is a big music composer now. Amelia tells the bartender that they both used to write their wishes on a piece of paper and bury it on the ski slope in the mountains. They both have their birthday together.

After meeting with Fiona, she rushes to the mountains to read those wishes, one had written ‘Fiona’ in it but the paper slips out of her hand, and while she catches it, she gets hit by a truck. The next day, she wakes up 18 again. Amelia is confused wondering how is she 18 again, but then she decides to enjoy the day with Moa, her friend, and Max, her boyfriend.

There’s an event going on in the school, where Fiona is about to sing but no one listens to her and everyone walks away from the auditorium. Amelia is now stealing beers for her party, getting arrested, and having a crazy 18th again. Though she enjoyed it 2-3 times she starts to get frustrated when she wakes up again and again on the same day.

She then tells Fiona she is stuck in a time loop, Fiona tells her the same thing happened in the movie, so Amelia asks her to rent that movie to her so she could figure out a way out of this, and they watched the movie together. And Amelia understands that Fiona is her only friend as she already heard Max and Moa back bitching about her. Amelia kept asking Fiona if she would hang out with her again, but Fiona wasn’t ready for it.

Amelia doesn’t know what to do, so she watches the videotape her Dad made for her, she enjoyed each and every moment. And next day she forces everyone to listen to Fiona sing and tells her that they should go and read all the wishes they wrote together, but Fiona doesn’t agree.

Amelia goes there alone, and she picks up the box of wishes and starts reading it and Fiona comes for her. Amelia is stunned when she reads one of Fiona’s wishes ‘I wish Amelia could fall in love with me’. Fiona runs away from there and Amelia follows her and she gets hit by the truck again.

Now, she woke up in ’40s again. And she knows what to do now, she rushes to Fiona’s birthday party, but when she saw her enjoying her life, she goes away from there. Amelia meets her parents and enjoys the birthday with them, while she is sitting alone, Fiona walks in. They talk to each other about what happened in the past.

Fiona tells her that she wants her in her life, and Amelia says that too, they get together and that suggests they now are in a relationship, and that is the sweet ending of the movie.

If you are looking for something to watch this weekend, you can go for this, but I would give it a 2 out of 5.
