Brittany Dodd has had a really painful life, she was an addict and she also opened up about generational trauma. She left her house when she was 12 years and then she got pregnant when she was 15 but because she was not sober, she had to give up her children for adoption. Brittany got into jail for the first time when she was 18 years old and got out after 5 years in 2013, but again got arrested for robbery in 2017, after that she did the reality television show Love After Lockup and tried to change her life. Brittany has been really true about the trauma she shared, and with the help of the show and her husband Marcelino Santiago, she meets her mother Cynthia, and confronts her about the things she had to go through when she was a child.
After the bonding session with Cynthia, she asks Brittany to help her in saying the same things to her mother. After deciding to help both Cynthia and Brittany goes on a journey from Las Vegas to Anchorage, Alaska so that Cynthia can confront her mother Jackie. The viewers were kind of disappointed because Jackie was not apologetic about the mistreatment, and Cynthia was visibly shaken by the replies she got, and she decides to storm off from the house and Brittney runs to sympathize with her mother. Brittany then reveals that her grandmother had abused her mother mentally, emotionally, and physically, and that her grandmother was abused by her mother, revealing the generational trauma. Brittany is ready to change her life and break the vicious cycle. She also released her memoir “Woman’s Journey: Surviving the Streets’, both Brittany and Marcelino are keen to help the ex-convicts in getting their life together after all the trauma they had endured.
A quarantine special episode was released on We Tv’s official YouTube channel where both Brittany and Marcelino talked about their lives and the things they would say to their younger self.
