On November 18, 2022, the movie will be seen in theatres in the United States. In-depth allegations of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct were made public by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey of The New York Times on October 5, 2017. They claim that for 30 years, Weinstein harassed actresses, female production assistants, temp workers, and other staff members at Miramax and The Weinstein Company. As a result of the accusations, the #MeToo campaign was given a boost, and Weinstein was ultimately given a 23-year prison term.

She Said, a book by Kantor and Twohey that describes the many procedures they used to look into and discover Weinstein’s sexual wrongdoing, was published in 2019. In 2018, Annapurna Pictures and Plan B Entertainment optioned the book’s rights. Zoe Kazan and Carey Mulligan were in talks to play Kantor and Twohey in the adaptation, Universal Pictures revealed in June 2021. It was also said that Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s screenplay, which Maria Schrader was slated to direct, would have Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner serving as producers. In July 2021, Natasha Braier, the film’s cinematographer, started shooting in New York City. By August, Tom Pelphrey, Samantha Morton, Andre Braugher, and Patricia Clarkson had also been added to the cast. The actor Adam Shapiro will debut in October 2021.

She Said Director

Maria Schrader was the director of She Said. Schrader was a prolific actor, but it’s possible that her work as Lenora Rauch in the movies Deutschland 83, Deutschland 86, and Deutschland 89 is what people most often associate her with. She Said is her most ambitious project to date, despite the fact that she has previously directed the German movies Love Life and I’m Your Man as well as multiple episodes of the Netflix miniseries Unorthodox. Rebecca Lenkiewicz created the script, which was based on the same-named novel by Kantor and Twohey.

She Said Trailer

The search of Twohey and Kantor to learn the truth about the abuse occurring in Hollywood is depicted in the trailer for She Said. They swiftly learn that many of the female victims of Harvey Weinstein’s heinous behaviour are either reluctant to speak out for fear of repercussions or are silenced by gag orders.

They swiftly come to the conclusion that speaking out as a group, as a united front, is the only way for them to feel safe speaking out as they gather more and more evidence of what is happening to these women.

Where to Watch She Said Online?

She Said will have its theatrical debut in the US and the UK on November 18. Universal Pictures now has a 45-day window for a theatrical release. If you can’t make it to the theatre, you won’t have to wait too long to watch She Said because Peacock allows movies to be distributed after 45 days.
