Brad Turner is the director of the Canadian action thriller Trigger Point from 2021. Starring in it are Colm Feore, Eve Harlow, Barry Pepper, Carlo Rota, Laura Vandervoort, Jayne Eastwood, Nazneen Contractor, Greg Bryk, Rainbow Sun Francks, and Nazneen Contractor. The story centers on a retired special agent who joins the group once again to assist his former employer in finding his daughter, who has gone missing. On April 16, 2021, Screen Media Films released Trigger Point in theatres. The movie received unfavorable reviews from reviewers.
After weeks of nerve-wracking anxiety as explosives inspector Lana Washington (Vicky McClure) battled a crafty terror cell, viewers could finally exhale when Trigger Point episode six aired on ITV.
The primary plot is nicely wrapped up in the series finale, but creator Daniel Brierley and producer Jed Mercurio (Line of Duty) have made it clear that they see this as only the beginning. ITV agreed and recommissioned the show for a second season.
With numerous heartbreaking personal losses and sorrow over people she was powerless to save, Lana’s first few episodes proved to be nothing short of agonizing for her.
Trigger Point Season 2 Release Date
Yes! ITV has announced that Trigger Point will return for a second season.
The series was positioned to be a “returner,” according to producer Jed Mercurio, and writer Daniel Brierley told RadioTimes.com that there was a “whole world of ideas” on where to take the plot next. Added him: “We’ll wait to hear from ITV. So to speak, the ball is now in their court.” ITV has pledged that the series will debut in 2023 when asked when it will be released.

Trigger Point Season 2 Cast
Vicky McClure, who played Lana Washington, an explosives officer for the Met Police, will rejoin the cast of Line of Duty. It is not yet known what she will be working on for season 2.
Also possible are the comebacks of dependable squad member and secret handshake partner Danny (Eric Shango), as well as Thom Youngblood, a former coworker who is now a secret lover (Mark Stanley). Brierley has shown interest in bringing back John Hudson (Kris Hitchen), one of the season one antagonists, for a redemption arc in a hypothetical follow-up, in an interview with RadioTimes.com. He might return in the future; there are undoubtedly interesting tales to share.”
Joel Nutkins, an explosives officer (Adrian Lester), Billy Washington, a deceived adolescent, and Karl Maguire, a bomber (Warren Brown), all met gruesome ends in the first six episodes of Trigger Point.
Because the show hasn’t used flashbacks as a story device thus far, and since that’s really the only way they might return, we don’t anticipate any of the aforementioned characters having roles in a potential season two.
Trigger Point Season 1 Recap
The major plot of a prospective Trigger Point season 2 would presumably center on another terror campaign engulfing London, however, it is currently unknown whether the perpetrators would be English Flag or another extremist group.

But she would be concerned that if she spoke if she kind of gave into the uncertainty and the anxiety inside of her, she would lose her efficacy. She believes so, but there may be an alternative.
Trigger Point Season 2 Story
The second season could potentially dig more into Vicky’s private life, however, it’s unclear if she’ll remain with DI Thom Youngblood. Her affair with Karl Maguire will hardly have improved their relationship, which already appeared tense at times.
Regardless, series creator Daniel Brierley appears to have many ideas for the following season, and with executive producer Jed Mercurio just a phone call away, he shouldn’t lack ideas. We are honoured and thrilled to have the opportunity to carry on Lana’s tale, he stated.
