The Kashmir Files is a 2022 Indian film. Agnihotri has also written this film based on the plight of Kashmiri Pandits alongside writing Saurabh M Pandey. It shows the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits during a period of time in the late 80s also referred to as Kashmir Insurgency. Till now the film has managed to rake in a total of Rs 3.55 Cr at the box office. The initial release date of the film was on 26th January 2022, which is Republic Day. However, the spread of Omicron had increased during that time and so the release had to be pushed. Even the subsequent theatrical release on the 11th of March 2022 happened after some conflict. The film is now available to watch and has also been declared tax-free in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.
Season 1 of the film has only recently been released and viewers are already wondering when will the next season released. The makers have not yet made an official announcement related to season 2. Chances are meagre that the next season will release anytime soon. However, it is not entirely. impossible since the story has a lot to delve into.

The Kashmir Files 2 Story
The story of The Kashmir Files follows the sufferings of Kashmiri Pandits. The Hindi language film showcases with great detail and expertise the incidents that played a crucial role in making the political climate around Kashmir. It follows a young college student named Krishna who is tremendously influenced by his professor named Radhika Menon. The film depicts his change of mindset. How he changes upon learning how his own people had suffered years back because of the genocide.
The film is an emotionally wrecking watch. It shows us new layers on what politics amd humanity mean to different people. It makes our heart pain for the sufferings of the Kashmiri Pandits. Their struggles, sufferings and pain are tremendous. The trauma inflicted on them is extreme. The film can be a tough watch for people who find it hard to witness gory things on the big screen. Viewer discretion is surely advised. It has been 31 years since the real incident and still impacts the survivors negatively. Many people who had tried escaping the violence suffered in camps with little to no support from the Indian Government.
