Unveiling the Koffee with Karan Season 8 Guests List!

India’s most sensational talk show, Koffee with Karan is sprinkled with controversies and gossip. Ever since the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director, Karan Johar AKA KJo, began broadcasting the series in November 2004, it has been a blockbuster success. Acclaimed to be the longest-running talk show after Doordarshan’s Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan, the reality drama has been entertaining its viewers for nearly two decades. The Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham director has propelled the show to newer heights every season. Now it stands as a pioneer in the genre. KJo, with his commitment to spice up his trademark show, has brought multiple celebrities on the stage.

Though he has mostly spilt the beans on these television personalities’ recent life updates, Johar has also paved the way for them to showcase their true personalities. Due to the same, the Koffee with Karan Season 8 guests list has become a flourishing question ever since this new iteration dropped on Disney+ Hotstar. If you, too, are wondering whether KJo has revealed the cast ensemble for his latest season, dive in!

The Dilemma on Koffee with Karan Season 8 Guests List

The Internet sensations, Kusha Kapila, Tanmay Bhat, Danish Sait and Niharika NM graced Karan’s golden couch in the finale of Season 7. Needless to say, they delivered one of the most memorable episodes in the show’s history. From roasting the Student of the Year director for his ‘Alia (Bhatt) obsession to twisting his hand to admit that even Bhatt herself had called him out, the episode was the perfect climax. However, it also raised the benchmark higher for the upcoming episodes and especially the forthcoming season.

Koffee with Karan Season 8 recently dropped on Disney+ Hotstar with B-town’s most iconic couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The steaming couple went from starry-eyed to staring and glaring at each other in a matter of minutes and yet delivered a drama-packed episode; such is the charm of KJo’s chat show. While they have entertained the audience immensely, fanatics are yet caught in a raging dilemma since the host hasn’t yet revealed a confirmed guest list.

As reported by Times Now, a source has cited that “It is no longer that simple for Karan to get whoever he waits. For one, he has already run through the wishlist of guests over the seven seasons so far.” The anonymous source went on to elaborate on the vetting criteria, mentioning that “He (Karan) has two choices: he can either invite more celebrities from outside the film industry (this doesn’t work unless it is someone like Dhoni or Rahul Gandhi) or just go for the tried-and-tested Bollywood names in different permutations and combinations.”

Moreover, the said source went on to express a few combinations that KJo could proceed with for example “Last year he (Karan) got Kareena to come with Aamir Khan. This season he may invite Kareena with her mother Babita or father Randhir Kapoor.” While nothing has been confirmed so far, some sources have revealed the plausible guests for this new season and here they are!

9. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh

The first episode of the show, Koffee with Karan, marked Padukone and Singh’s first couple interview after they tied the knot in Italy on November 14, 2018. This hour-long chat with the couple left Karan teary-eyed. Eventually, the Simmba director admitted that he felt lonely and he “realised what he’s missing out on being single.” The admission flew out of his mouth directly after the couple revealed their wedding video near their fifth anniversary. Similar to the host, the fans were also left cooing and crying.

However, Deepika and Ranveer didn’t let their fans and KJo off the hook easily. They also revealed the difficulties they went through in the early phase of their relationship. Deepika unveiled the struggle she had to endure due to her mother’s disapproval of his fiance. Ranveer then asked for a chance to prove himself as fans criticized the director Farhan Akhtar’s choice. Overall, Karan delivered his traditional controversy-induced episode with an additional touch by Bollywood’s favourite couple.

8. Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani

Though Season 8 has already witnessed a hazy blend of swoon-worthy romance and candid revelations, it is possible that the newlyweds, Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, will make an appearance. Ever since the duo tied the knot in February 2023, fans have been looking forward to seeing them open up about their relationship. While the decade has witnessed multiple wedding bells from the B-town, Malhotra and Advani’s remain an iconic feast.

It is speculated that Siddharth will grace the couch and reveal more about his upcoming film, Yodha which is also a Karan Johar directorial. Kiara was last seen along with Vicky Kaushal for Govinda Naam Mera on the silver screen and is set to feature in the upcoming South Indian film, Game Changer. With KJo’s rapid-fire rounds and notorious gossipy nature, it would be a delight to watch Malhotra and Advani having a cuppa with him.

7. Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor

Another couple making headlines in Bollywood, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have been reportedly considered for Koffee with Karan Season 8. However, it seems like the Liger producer is inclined towards inviting the new mother, Alia, and her sister-in-law, Kareena, for a quick talk. As the previous season’s Koffee Awards jury, Kusha Kapila, Tanmay Bhat, Danish Sait and Niharika NM, mentioned, KJo will likely not get over his “Alia obsession” and pull her in for one more episode.

Ever since her romantic drama film with Ranveer Singh, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani (Rocky and Rani’s Love Story), premiered in February 2023, Alia has become the talk of the town. While Kapoor is currently laying low, an entertaining session with KJo and Bhatt might be the kickstart she needs. It depends whether the host removes her from his “wishlist” and adds her to the “guest list”. According to the speculations, they have already shot the episode for the season and have captured their slot. It is almost certain that Bhatt and Kapoor have been cast for the season. However, fans are naturally demanding an official confirmation which seems to be far away right now.

6. Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol

Bollywood’s macho men, Sunny and Bobby recently appeared for the second episode of this iteration. And it was nothing short of a hilarious ride. Initially, Sunny was speculated to arrive for a coffee with his Gadar 2 co-star. The 500 crore blockbuster hit and a sequel to Sunny’s romantic drama, Gadar, was the first to be addressed. Needless to say, Ameesha Patel’s presence was certainly missed by the fans of the Gadar couple. However, Bobby took away the sting with his signature eery calm and boisterous nature.

The highlight of the episode remains Sunny’s candid admission. He claimed that “he didn’t know if anyone would turn up for his success bash” with a strange calm note. While his modesty humbled the audience, Bobby’s no-hold-barred attitude spiced up the show. He rendered the Shaandaar director speechless by revealing that KJo didn’t cast him when he reached out for work. Of course, Karan weaved through the allegation and saved himself from another controversy by an inch.

Sunny’s modesty and the brotherly affection between the Deol men certainly slayed millions of hearts. As if it wasn’t enough, Sunny’s neice Aryaman spruced up for a surprise by unveiling the family dynamics. Throughout the episode, the Deol men maintained their composure. They didn’t let fans or KJo use their story as another “gossip”.

5. Shah Rukh Khan and Aryan Khan

The Jawaan star, Shah Rukh Khan has been a prolific figure in Koffee with Karan ever since its debut. In fact, he was the first guest to appear on KJo’s show along with his Kuch Kuch Hota Hai co-star, Kajol. However, he has been notably missing from the chat show’s cast list. Fans want nothing more than the Pathaan’s protagonist along with his elder son, Aryan on KJo’s show. It is rumoured that the team is trying to convince the Khans to arrive for the Season 8 finale.

It seems like the operative word here is “trying” because nothing has been confirmed by the Khans’ ends yet. Even KJo mentioned, “Shah Rukh is there, but I don’t think he wants to be in the forefront. He deserves his silence. As fans and filmmakers, we should give him that.” While his statement contradicts the wave of speculations, nothing is confirmed yet.

If they do agree to the show, it would be worth witnessing Shah Rukh with his son Aryan, spilling some coffee and engaging in a Koffee Quiz. Though Aryan hasn’t yet been seen in such reality shows, the plausibility is not to be denied. He isn’t even the only Khan kid to be rumoured to join the cast list of Karan’s talk show.

4. Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda

Suhana Khan, Shah Rukh’s daughter and the protagonist of the Zoya Akhtar directorial, The Archies, is also speculated to be joining the cast list. She is expected to share the couch with her co-actors, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda and let the B-town fanatics discover more about her. Suhana has kept a low profile for decades. But it seems like she is ready to make her debut on a reality show and what better than Johar’s series?

The Archies, which is a coming-of-age musical, recently dropped on Netflix. While the promotion and marketing for the series were stellar, viewers aren’t nearly familiar with the cast members and would certainly appreciate their presence on KJo’s show. However, similar to Aryan and Shah Rukh, Suhana’s presence isn’t confirmed yet.

3. Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgan

Bollywood’s most popular director-actor duo, Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgan are nearly set to help Johar transform the ‘meh’ impression left by the seventh season into a spicy eighth iteration. The Dilwale director has been expanding his cop universe with Akshay Kumar’s Sooryawansham and the Ranveer Singh starrer Simba. But he is yet to compete against the stardom of the Ajay starrer, Singham.

Shetty and Devgan have upheld a tight-knit friendship for decades with the latter leading more than half a dozen films of the former. They have recently completed the shooting process for Singham 3 and will most likely be seen promoting their upcoming film. Devgan can give the Deols a run for their money in the secrecy department. But KJo is also renowned for serving his audience a delightful episode with unique games if not a few insider secrets. It would be bewitching to watch Rohit and Ajay reflect on their friendship and of course, their upcoming action thriller.

2. Rani Mukerji and Kajol

While announcing this season, KJo released a hilarious video trolling himself by engaging with his Konscience. “Did someone put something in your coffee last season? The conversations were so meh, they were so thanda (cold). You could have called it Cold Coffee with Karan,” the KILL producer’s ‘Konscience’ joked in the trailer. The video also promised a dramatic season. And what better way to achieve it than bringing the boisterous Kajol to the show?

If speculations are to be believed, the Mardaani star Rani Mukerji and The Trial: Love, Kanoon, Dhokha’s protagonist, Kajol are all ready to feature in Koffee with Karan Season 8. If KJo invites the duo to his hot seat, he will definitely make this new iteration sizzle. However, with Kajol busy shooting for Salaam Venky, nothing has been confirmed by her end so far.

1. Ananya Pandey and Sara Ali Khan

The best friends, Ananya and Sara are also reported to join the cast ensemble for this season. Khan’s latest hit with Vicky Kaushal, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, will certainly be an interesting story arc for fans. Both Pandey and Khan would add a unique dimension to the show with their buoyant personalities. Reportedly, the duo have already shot for the episode.

With KJo bankrolling Sara’s upcoming film, Ae Watan Mere Watan, the chances of the speculations proving true are charting high. The B-town fanatics would be enamoured to witness this dynamic pair joining the Koffee with Karan Season 8 guests list. Eventually, these tittle-tattles would be proven true only on Thursdays at midnight.
