Houseki No Kuni Chapter 104 Release Date
Also entitled Land Of The Lustrous and Country Of Jewels, Houseku No Kuni began serialization on October 25, 2012. The manga was licensed by the publishing giant Kodansha and has been collected into twelve tankōbon volumes so far. The English paperback version is licensed by Kodansha Comics, too, and has been collected into an equal amount of volumes as well. The fantasy manga has been nominated for several prestigious accolades including the Next Manga Award. As of 2023, Houseku No Kuni has sold millions of copies and currently has over a million copies in circulation.
Takahiko Kyōgoku adapted Ichikawa’s manga for a 3D anime adaptation which premiered from October to December 2017. Though fans are still hopeful for a sequel, the animation studio, Orange CG, is yet to order a second iteration. It could be due to the excruciating hiatus Houseki No Kuni went from December 2020 to June 2022 that the studio decided to wait a while longer. Due to the same hiatus, fans are even more compelled than ever to witness Ichikawa’s creative imagination.

Houseki No Kuni Manga Overview
The manga is set in an apocalyptic universe where Earth is destroyed by the consecutive attack of six meteorites. While the human species is subjugated, a new genus emerges out of the jewels encrusted in the land. Over time, these jewel-like creatures develop sentience and mobility. They structure their own universe and classes in accordance with the brittle value of each jewel. The lowest ranking jewel, in terms of their friability, is Phosphophylitte aka Phos, with a mediocre 3.5 hardness.
As these immortal jewels transform into human-like creatures, their luxury and brittleness values are taken into consideration to assign them appropriate tasks. Phos, due to its weak crystalline structure, is deemed unworthy of entering the battlefield and is tasked with conjuring an encyclopedia instead. But with the Lunarians aka Moon People, looming above their heads as a threat, Phos decides not to be left behind in the war. However, despite transforming into a lean human body, Phos is unable to convince his seniors.
Houseki No Kuni Chapter 104 Storyline
Due to his clumsiness, naivete and lack of poison, unlike Cinnabar who’s even weaker than Phos but is included in the war due to the latter attribute, Phos is perceived to be the weakest creature. Instead of letting the prejudice sully his life, Phos decides to prove his worth by conjuring the encyclopedia to the best of his ability. On his quest to map Earth’s entire timeline and research the non-existent humans, Phos deduces that a shard of humanity is still prevalent on Earth.
