The movie may seem funny and humourous with a deep message inside, but it’s not just something very light to take, because the event around which the entire movie is based, the homeless football World Cup is actually a true event that happens every year, and every country out there tries to participate in it, the glory isn’t as prestigious as the real football world, that something we also admit, however, this event is not for achieving the glory of any sort, it is basically an awareness program which works like a charity event, where the homeless people are given a second chance, and many people get to know how many homeless people are out there on the streets in every country because of the growing problem of housing and economy. Following this, this movie basically tells the tale of a professional player, who hasn’t got much sportsmanship according to the media and has also been disturbed by her mother being on the run, attacks the media, and soon loses all his name. now following this his life starts as the head coach of the homeless football team of Korea.
Now one of the major questions that we have been asked since the announcement of this movie is whether it has been based on a real-life incident. The makers also started the movie that the 2010 world cup event in which Korea went for the first time, many incidents have been recorded from it, and was also the main inspiration of the story. However nowhere has it been answered whether the movie is actually based on a true-life story. However, no worries we are going to answer it right now and right here.
Dream True Story
The movie Dream when you look at first glance may seem very unreal considering the fact that most people out there don’t even know about the existence of the homeless football world cup event that happens every year, however as we have already cleared the air, the event actually exists and it has been going on since 2002. Now the interesting fact is, the movie has already been declared by the makers to be inspired by a true incident. It is basically an inspiration that has been dramatized into an amazing movie.
For those who don’t understand as of now, it is not completely based on a true story, and it has been also declared by the makers that the characters that have been shown in this movie, are completely fictional, but if there is some resemblance between some original persona’s life and the movie, it is completely coincidental and nothing to be based on that personas life. However, this also leaves scope for the makers to actually adapt real-life scenarios which were not made public in the past or something like that.
However we also did our research quite well, and the main character of the story, which is played by our lead actor Park Seo Joon, doesn’t actually exist in real life. In the year 2010 when the Korean team went to the homeless football world cup, it did surely win the best newcomer title as it has been shown at the end of the movie, but the head coach who is the character of Yoon, isn’t actually inspired from a real-life person. The coach back then has not publicized his identity but as we have heard, he is basically a bus driver, but surely has got a lot of skill to earn the title of best newcomer from such a huge event.
Thus finally we would like to state that, the movie is not completely based on a true story, but it has been inspired by the 2010 homeless football world cup which take place in Rio De Janeiro.
