My Name Is Earl: What’s There In The Plot Of This Show
My Name Is Earl revolves around our silly little Earl Hickey. He is a foolish man who steals stuff from people and thinks he will be all good. Initially, things start to go well for Earl. But as they say, what goes around, it always comes around. And that is Karma. He wins a lottery prize worth 100,000 US Dollars. We see a happy Earl celebrating his victory but suddenly, a car hits him hard. While he was still recovering, his wife Joy decides to move out and keeps their kids in her custody. Earl gets heartbroken after he finds out that she has married another man, Darnell.
When Earl was recovering, he felt the need to rectify his mistakes. The lottery he won, was bought by stealing money from someone else. Due to the miseries in his life, Earl loses his family. So, he decides to make amends for everything he has done wrong. According to him, everything he did wrong, is the main reason behind his tragic downfall. Earl’s injury causes him to lose his highly prized winning ticket. He decides to enlist and work towards the amends he wanted to make.
As Earl went on and completes the first steps of his redemption arc, he gets back his lottery prize. When Joy gets arrested for stealing a truck, Earl lies in court. He sacrifices his freedom so that she can look after their son. His journey is not easy at all. With each step, there are twists and turns which keep coming in his life. Although things start to get complicated, Earl does not get discouraged. Even when he gets imprisoned, his good deeds cause the warden to reduce his serving time.
