An American yacht club president, Lewis Gratz Fell, might not be as popular as his wife–oh wait, ex-wife–Aileen Wuornos but he has enjoyed his fair share of popularity. Born to Robert Gratz Fell and Florence Biddle Addams, Lewis was a man of diverse interests. His tastes were extraordinary and expensive, his way of conduct was influenced by his sharp wit and investment skills. Hailing originally from Philadelphia, Fell resided in Florida at the time of his death in solitude.
As observed by the creators of Aileen Wuornos: American Boogeywoman, Lewis Gratz was a secretive man who fell for the wrong woman. Wedding Aileen Wuornos proved to be a fatal mistake for Lewis. Did this mistake become Lewis Gratz Fell’s cause of death? Did Aileen Wuornos kill Lewis Gratz Fell? Let us find out right away!
Lewis Gratz Fell’s Cause Of Death
Lewis Gratz Fell, born on June 28, 1907, resided in Philadelphia with his parents until his teen years. The years of his migration are a blur since Gratz is no longer alive to confirm or deny the facts. It is assumed that Lewis arrived in Florida for better job opportunities and to channel the investor in him. Lewis began operating yachts, managing and tailoring customer experience on the yachts and generally overlooking them as a part of his job. He was a yachtier himself and have seen the ocean more than land, struggle more than stability.
As a side business, Gratz indulged in investing and reaping the ripe fruits of the said investments. It was his strategizing and decision-making skills that helped him climb the social ladders and become a man of power and wealth. However, he made the fatal mistake of marrying a cold-blooded killer, Aileen Wuornos.
Despite that mistake, Gratz didn’t end up becoming another victim of Wuornos. He survived his newly wedded wife by an inch of death. Lewis Gratz Fell died on January 6, 2000, at the age of 92 naturally.

Lewis Gratz Fell’s Wife Was A Cold Blooded Murderer
Lewis first married Katherine Reeves Royce in 1928 only to divorce her four years later in 1932. The couple had a daughter together, whom they decided to co-parent. A while later Elizabeth Carpenter arrived in his life and the duo tied the knot soon. His relationship with Carpenter didn’t last long either. After Elizabeth, Fell shut down the doors to relationships and focused entirely on his business.
In 1976, Lewis met Aileen Wuornos and once again rushed to walk down the altar despite the almost 50-year-long age difference between the two with the former being 69 and the latter 20. But unlike his previous marriages, this one didn’t last a couple of years. It didn’t even last for days due to Aileen’s intolerable behaviour towards Lewis. She used his own cane to whip him, resulting in another lawsuit being filed against her. However, Lewis didn’t drag the matter and ended the ruckus by annulling their marriage.
Aileen was later on caught murdering several people, becoming the first female serial killer. Lewis saved himself from becoming her victim within an inch of his life. He lived on another 25 years after parting ways with Aileen before passing away in the confines of his home.
Lewis Gratz Fell Left Millions Of Dollars To His Only Daughter
It is observed that Lewis was a wealthy man who held a respectable position at a prestigious yacht club. Even at his age, Fell tried his best to push boundaries and continue hustling. His net worth at the time of his death has been rumoured to be around 2 to 3 million dollars though his assets yet remain hidden. The sole heir to his wealth and assets remains his only daughter.
Not much about Lewis’ daughter is known but it is assumed that she is residing in a secluded corner of Florida–which seems presumptuous but it is what it is. Much like her late father, Lewis’ daughter remains a mysterious enigma.
