The series is centred around an ex-cop, Atlas who is blamed for the suicide of Mussa Basher. Mussa has been serving a sentence for the murder of Judge Herres and the officer who arrested him months ago is Atlas. Now, after Basher’s suicide, Mike is forced to come out of hiding and face the mess his life has become. Meanwhile, the lawyer investigating Mussa’s suicide, Jule, comes across shocking truths. Her mother has been a star lawyer but as Jule’s boss, Coraina Steck (Melika Foroutan) believes, she isn’t as tough.
Sleeping Dogs Season 1 climaxed with revealing the mastermind behind Mussa’s suicide and threw Mike and Jule into a vicious cycle of revealing and revelling in secrets. Season 2 would pick up from the cliffhanger as mentioned above and elaborate on why Judge Herres was murdered and Mussa suicided. It would shed light on Jule and her colleague, Tom Schlefski’s budding relationship and Mike and his best friend Luka Zaric’s (Carlo Ljubek) deteriorating friendship.
