Ponniyin Selvan is an Indian-Tamil film. It is written and directed by the South director Manui Ratnam. The film is co-produced by Mani Ratnam and its production studio Madras Talkies and along with Allirajah Subaskaran.
The film’s parts 1 & 2 have already been released in the back 2022 & 2023, respectively. However, as per the audience demand for its part, 3 release is yet to be announced.

Ponniyin Selvan Movie Story Plot.
Ponniyin Selvan is an Indian-Tamil historic film. The movie is based on the 10th century Chola Dynasty and its king and his sons’ struggles to get power over their father as he falls ill.
The first part of the movie opens up to the audience the reigning king who has now fallen ill. His two sons, Aditya Karikalan and Arulmozhi Varman the younger one also known as Ponniyin Selvan, is the protagonist of the whole story. Both the sons struggle hard to get the power in one of each’s hands.
The younger son Arulmozhi Varman along with his loyal friend Vandiyathevan is set on a journey to support the crown king Aditya Karikalan. On their way they found many strange characters and accidents happening with them.
On their way, they found Nandhini, who is a mysterious lady who has magical powers. She tries to seduce Arulmozhi Varman and tells him to get against his own family, but he refuses to do so.
The film ends with the sudden news of the king being dead and the suspect his brother Arulmozhi Varman is asked to flee away and hide somewhere.
Part 2 of the film continues with Arulmozhi Varman as a ran away person and his friend Vandiyathevan is presumed dead.
Meanwhile, Nandhini along with her conspirators tries to seize power, and the king’s daughter was forced to marry one of the conspirators. Soon she understood their plan and joins the army with Arulmozhi Varman to stop them from doing so.
The story ends with Arulmozhi Varman and his tribe winning the fight and him being made the crown prince of the Chola Dynasty. The movie is full of twists and turns, with outstanding performances and visuals, making the audience demand the III part of the film as well.

As per the audience, the movie is one of the best movies in the Tamil Language. The movie made everyone so much aware of the historical events which they almost have never known of. The audience feels part 2 to be the better one than part 1. This has been the most liked historic film to date.
