When we talk about shonen manga, The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy is a little difficult to beat. Released in November 2019, this manga has captured huge audiences all around the globe. Also known as Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai, is a light novel series that was written by Yū Shimizu and illustrated by Asagi Tōsaka.
Since its release in May 2019, there has been a total of 12 volumes released for the light novel series. Soon, this novel was adapted into manga in November 2019, but this isn’t where this ends, the manga has now officially been announced for an anime adaptation as well. So, will we be able to see the dark lord taking over the world very soon? Well, here’s what we know about when The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy is coming.
The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy Release Date
The anime has not been confirmed for 2023, but the official adaptation of the manga into anime was confirmed way back in October 2021, and since then we have not heard anything about The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy release date. There is no doubt the anime has been confirmed, but when it will premiere is still a suspicion to us.
Though there is no premiere date announced for the anime yet, other information related to the anime has been revealed. The main news came out on March 25, 2023, at the AnimeJapan convention. They revealed the staff members as well as a little preview of the anime. This confirms that the anime is already in the works and probably the production is coming to an end too. So, if we do a little brainstorming looking at the information we have, we could expect The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy to release somewhere at the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.
Still, it’s a little early to say, as there is no announcement yet, but we hope our predictions are right. We will update the page as soon as official information regarding the release date is out!

The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy Cast & Characters
Though we will have to wait for the release date, we don’t have to wait for the cast. The cast of this very anticipated anime has been already announced:
Yui Ishikawa will be playing the voice of Riselia Ray Crystalia. In addition to this, Marina Inoue will voice the legendary character, Leonis Death Magnus. Aya Suzaki will be voicing one of the most famous characters in the novel, Regina Mercedes. And excluding them, the other cast members confirmed are Hiromi Igarashi as Elfine Phillet, Honoka Kuroki voicing Sakuya Sieglinde, and Arisa Nakada as Shary.
The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy Story
If an anime comes from some manga or light novel series, we can get huge spoilers beforehand. So, I will try to give you the basic gist of what the anime will be about, without giving any major spoilers. So, the story takes us to 1000 years before, when the world is in a devastating war, led by 6 dark lords. And humanity is at the peak of extinction. So, to achieve this, six dark lords fell in one by one with their powers. In the end. only one remains.
The Undead King, Leonis Death Magnus but before his area, Necrozoa got captured he did something. Magnus covers his body with a very powerful shield and then asks for resurrection. He says that he will accept the defeat once, but he is going to come back again after 1000 years to conquer humanity as ordered by the Goddess of Rebellion.
But, here comes the twist, there’s a little girl in the town, Riselia Ray Crystalia who found Magnus’s ancient ruins. She decides to uncover it, and while doing that Magnus comes back to life in the body 10-year-old child. The girl thought he was a refugee too, so she takes him back to the town, and Magnus starts his mission again!

Though, there is no trailer released yet, a promotional video of the anime was released at Anime Japan 2023. The video looked pretty interesting, and it is going to be an ecchi anime, though the video didn’t show any of the characters in bare bodies, we saw Magnus moaning in the last 10 seconds of the video.
The video also gave us insight into Leo’s two different sides, one was a skeleton and other was the 10 year boy he get transforms into. Overall, the PV was very very good, and we can expect the anime to be the same too.
