From the creators of Downtown Abby, Julian Fellowes presents yet another historical drama, The Gilded Age. This era in the US is known for all kinds of developments in government, technology, economy, and social customs of America. As the name of the show suggests, it is filled with such elements straight from the 1800s. This show is set in the very heart of New York City draped in the colors of The Gilded Era. The show was first announced in January 2018 by NBC but later got moved to HBO in May 2019.
There are going to be nine episodes in Season 1 of The Gilded Age. The episodes are directed by Michael Engler and Salli Richardson and written by Julian Fellowes. Neamo Film and Television and Universal Television are the production companies in charge. The filming began in March 2020 but got delayed due to the pandemic situation. The first episode is titled “Never the New” and premiered on 24th January 2022. The episodes are also released on Disney+Hotstar on a weekly basis. The concluding episode is scheduled to release on 21st March 2022.
The Gilded Age Season 2 Release Date
With the first episode already released, the show has got a fairly good response from the fans and critics alike. Based on the pilot episode, the show already has an 8/10 rating on IMDb and an 81% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The second episode of The Gilded Age Season 1, titled “Money is Everything” is due on 31st January 2022 at 9 pm ET.
All nine episodes have been scheduled to release one episode a week. As much as fans seem excited to know about the further plot developments, it is unclear what the fate of the show is going to be. Whether there will be The Gilded Age Season 2 is yet to be announced. As for the predictions, nothing can be said until the release of the concluding episode by the end of March 2022. The Gilded Age Season 1 Episodes Schedule
HBO gave a straight-to-series order for The Gilded Age with a total of nine episodes in Season 1. The title of each episode is based on the events happening in it. The third episode is titled “Face the Music” and is due on 7th February 2022. Likewise, all the further episodes are released on Monday every week at 9 pm ET. The finale episode, titled “Let the Tournament Begin” is scheduled for 21st March 2022.
The Gilded Age Season 1 Story
As the name of the show suggests, The Gilded Age is set in New York City in the 1800s. The time is when great revolutions are taking place in the fields of technology, infrastructure, economy, government, and society. The show simultaneously follows the story of two rich families: the Van Rhijns and the Russells. The Russells have newly moved in the neighborhood while the Van Rhijn family are older residents of the place. When the Russells throw an introduction party at their house, things go haywire. The show also follows Marian Brook, an ambitious niece of Agnes Van Rhijn who looks forward to becoming independent after her father’s death.

The recurring cast members are Audra McDonald, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ben Ahlers, Ashlie Atkinson, Michael Cerveris, Kelley Curran, Claybourne Elder, Amy Forsyth, and Celia Keenan-Bolger.
