1. Dash and Lily

Dash & Lily is just the perfect show to watch on Christmas! It’s an American romantic comedy series created by Joe Tracz. Based on a book of the same name, it takes you on a rollercoaster ride filled with everything Christmas! The series has 8 episodes and it premiered on Netflix on 10th November 2020. Although the series is canceled for another season, the first season is surely a blast for your festive mood.

Some of the cast members include Austin Abrams as Dash, Midori Francis as Lily, Dante Brown as Boomer, and Troy Iwata as Langston. The show revolves around two teenagers Dash, a boy who hates Christmas, and Lily, a girl who loves it. Things go completely berserk when both of their worlds meet. The 1st season of the show is available on Netflix.

2. Home for Christmas

Another show to watch on Christmas is Home For Christmas. It is a television series and was the first Norwegian one to premiere on Netflix. Another romantic drama-comedy, Home For Christmas revolves around Johanne, played by Ida Elise Broch. The story follows her searching for a boyfriend to bring home for Christmas Eve as her family is rooting to watch her with a guy. 

The series received a lot of positive reviews. It has 2 seasons of 6 episodes each. Each episode is about 30 minutes long and viewers are kept on their toes throughout. This is a great show to watch on Christmas.

3. Marvel’s Hawkeye

What could be a better show than the one which has superheroes and Christmas vibes all together? Marvel’s Hawkeye is a television miniseries created by Jonathan Igla for Marvel Studios. It is based on Marvel comic characters Clint Barton aka Hawkeye and Kate Bishop. The events of this show take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019). With Rhys Thomas leading the direction team, this miniseries stars Jeremy Renner and Hailey Steinfeld as the main leads.

Other cast members include Tony Dalton, Fra Fee, Brian d’Arcy James, and Aleks Paunovic. The events take place in a snowy New York and are filled with Christmas and festive vibes. Currently, the show is streaming on Disney+Hotstar with 4 episodes already released. 2 more episodes are still on the way for the show’s conclusion on 22nd December 2021.

4. F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

With the holidays just around the corner, the classic sitcoms might just be the thing you’re looking for. Directed by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, F.R.I.E.N.D.S is an American television sitcom. It aired on NBC from 22nd September 1994 to 6th May 2004. It has 10 seasons starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer as the 6 main “friends”. 

All the seasons have a bunch of binge-worthy episodes which follow around the events of the Christmas holidays and New Year celebrations. Set in Manhattan, New York, F.R.I.E.N.D.S is a show all about humor, relationships, friendships, and a lot more humor again! All the 10 seasons are available on Netflix.

5. Gilmore Girls

The Gilmore Girls is yet another American television comedy-drama series that was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino. It stars Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore and Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore in the lead roles. The show had a total of seven seasons. Its very first episode aired on 5th October 2000 on The WB. However, the final season moved to The CW and concluded on 15th May 2007.

The story revolves around Lorelai and her daughter Rory, having a very wholesome mother-daughter bond. It also contains some festive episodes which revolve around the time of Christmas and New Year. All the episodes of this show are available on Netflix. It also has a sequel called Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

6. Merry Happy Whatever

A show on Netflix, Merry Happy Whatever is another one of the best shows to watch on Christmas. It has one season of 8 episodes starring Dennis Quaid in the lead role. It first premiered on Netflix on 28th November 2019. By April 2020, it was canceled by the show creators. The story revolves around the cheerful time of Christmas focusing on the Quinn family struggling with different stresses of the holidays. 

7. Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special

A Christmas special starring Mariah Carey, The Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special premiered on 4th December 2020. The episodes are available on Apple TV+ and are directed by Hamish Hamilton and Roman Coppola. The executive producers’ list includes Hamilton, Coppola, Carey, Ashley Edens, Ian Stewart, and Raj Kapoor. 

This special focuses on the Christmas crises and Santa Claus’s great friend, Mariah Carey comes to solve them. Some of the other guest stars of the show include Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Ariana Grande, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Jennifer Hudson, Misty Copeland, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Monroe Carey Cannon, and Moroccan Scott Cannon.

8. The Great Christmas Light Fight

The Great Christmas Light Fight is an American reality show about families competing for the best Christmas decorations across the country. Carter Oosterhouse and Taniya Nayak are the judges of the show. Each of the episodes shows how 4 different families redecorate their homes for Christmas and in the end, the house with the best festive decor wins.

The winner gets a prize of 50,000 dollars. To date, the show has 9 seasons with a total of 55 episodes. It first premiered on 9th December 2013 and is still an ongoing show on American Broadcasting Company. Viewers can watch the show on ABC’s official website.
