Residing in a small village in Jharkhand, this story speaks about the struggles and hardships of Kiran and her father, Ranjit. Not to forget, the Srijan Foundation played a very crucial role here. Coming from a society where villagers were trying to get her married to one of the rape victims, it was truly brave of Kiran to speak up against the wrong done to her.
Who could have ever thought that one wedding night would eventually destroy her childhood forever? As everyone was busy in celebration, a soul died in silence. Sources revealed that Ranjit’s nephew was getting married. But little did the family know that Kiran’s whole life was about to turn upside down. It is indeed very crucial for females to step up for themselves and speak freely. Writer and director of the movie, Nisha Pahuja, an Indian-born Canadian always wanted to bring up the growing issue of gender justice into the picture. In an exclusive interview, the writer said that she might live in Canada, but the violence and crime committed against women in India were never new to her.
For a couple of years now, she has been looking for some interesting projects to work on. And then she came across this rape case of Jharkhand. The real-life story of Kiran fits perfectly to her requirements. She further revealed that her initial plan was to hide the face of Kiran, but the young adult insisted otherwise. Kiran was of the view that she had not done any wrong for which she had to hide her identity. It was those three men who should hide from society, not her. The director herself was quite impressed to see Kiran’s fearless attitude. Even after being a rape victim, Kiran is trying her best to live a normal life!
