After this when they all fell asleep, he went to the place where he kept his gun. From there he took his rifle and loaded it with bullets. First, he killed Hunter by shooting him twice which made him die instantly. Their mother tried to save them by making the other two boys run. During this time, the stepdaughter was watching television but after hearing the gunshots came to the crime scene.
She too told Clayton to run fast but Chad got hold of him in the nearby field and shot him in the head. His wife took Chase in her lap and tried to escape but Chad caught them and asked to hand over Chase to him. His wife retaliated and there was a fight between the both.
