But for now, this 18th November 2023 Netflix release, The Railway Men: The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984, has Iftekaar Siddiqui as the station master of Bhopal. The role of which is played by the famous Bollywood actor Kay Kay Menon.

Premise Of The Railway Men

The Railway Men: The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984 new release of Netflix is based on a real-life incident that took place in Bhopal, India in the year 1984. The series is based on the Bhopal Gas Tragedy or Bhopal Disaster which took place in Bhopal, in 1984 due to the misuse of some workers and the leakage of the most dangerous and harmful gas Methyl Isocynate. The gas was leaked, which instantly made thousands of people die and its effects were seen even after years in the air of Bhopal. 

The story begins on December 2, 1984, with the workers working late at night at Union Carbide India Limited where all this happened. Due to some improper functioning of the machines, the gas started to leak and due to no safety measures used by the workers of this company, many of them died. Soon the gas spread out in the atmosphere of Bhopal, causing breathing problems, and death to the common men. At that time, there were three brave men, Imad Riaz who was an ex-worker being fired from the company for complaining about his friend’s death, who now worked as a newly recruited loco-pilot. 

Along with him, joined the Iftekaar Sidiqque, the station master and a thief who had come to loot him that night, Balwant. The three as soon as they got the news and heard of the large chaos of the crowd on the stress, decided to lock everyone safely in the waiting room of Bhopal station. While they performed these saving people, Rati Pandey the manager of a nearby station came to know about all this and asked for help from his seniors. 

Despite getting no help, he decides to help the crowd by putting them safely on a goods train and bringing them to another station. Meanwhile, another train approaching the station was stopped and saved from collision by both Iftekaar and Imad. As they inhaled the gases the two died. Following them the manager of the company Kamruddin also died. Well, before this Imad and Kamruddin helped a journalist make news of the no-safety-measures of this company, which he used further to take pictures and videos at the time of the incident.

In the main list of crew members, the series has, Rati Pandey the general manager of the station played by R. Madhavan, followed by him are Imad Riaz the new loco pilot played by Babil Kha, Iftekaar Siddiqi the station master Bhopa played by Kay Kay Menon and Balwant Yadav the dacoit that night played by Divyendu. Jagmohan Kumawat the journalist played by Sunny Hinduja, Rajeshwari Janglay head of Rati Pandey played by Juhi Chawala Mehta and many more are involved in the series.
