This reality show introduces us to a set of home bakers who have never stepped foot into a professional kitchen. They aren’t wholly oblivious to the high-definition skills and equipment they are tasked with though. The renowned dessert baker, Erin Jeanne McDowell and chocolatier Robert Lucas help the contestants get familiar with the equipment and baking techniques they will have to incorporate in their challenge. After this pre-planned lesson is done, McDowell and Lucas’ role is accomplished. And the contestants are left to demonstrate their keen skills and passion for baking on their own.

They are brought to their respective kitchen counters where the comedian/host, Nicole, narrates a unique challenge to them. The judge, Jacques Torres, a renowned chocolatier and desert expert, then, observes the participants and the mouth-watering desserts they create. Eventually, there’s only one winner by the end of each episode and one ultimate winner by the end of the seasons.
