This action comedy-drama explores the themes of friendship, identity crisis and betrayals.
Twisted Metal has caused quite an uproar in the community of video-game geeks and action enthusiasts. Due to the engrossing plot and graphic portrayal of it, questions regarding Twisted Metal Season 2 have been surfacing. So, if you are wondering whether the sequel is renewed, here’s your chance to get the answer!
Twisted Metal Season 2 Release Date
In 2019, Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions collaborated together to adapt the decades-old franchise, Twisted Metal, into a live-action series. Three years later, Peacock licensed this series which premiered on July 27, 2023, with ten nearly thirty-minute-long episodes. A power-packed punch of satire, humour, action and emotions, Twisted Metal is a star-studded delight which will most likely return for a sequel.
Though the creators haven’t yet commented on their plans regarding Twisted Metal Season 2, it is obvious they are planning on a sequel. For a big-budget series with such a skilled cast ensemble and plot, it doesn’t make sense for the makers to not try and expand the universe. As many critics have pointed out, the debut season lays the foundation for a plausible second season. However, the makers are yet to confirm the sequel. If it is approved soon, Twisted Metal Season 2 will premiere in late 2024 or early 2025 at the earliest.

Twisted Metal Series Overview
Set in a distorted, post-apocalyptic world, Twisted Metal follows an amnesiac milkman, John Doe (Mackie). The cities have laid ginormous walls and exiled criminals to protect sensitive data after a threatening cyber attack. Since these criminals are forbidden to enter the city premises, the milkmen ensure an adequate supply of necessary equipment. John has lost his memories and is now desperate to establish his identity. When he comes across an enticing offer, he quickly grabs it.
John is tasked with retrieving a package from New Chicago in exchange for citizenship in New San Francisco. Moreover, the deal is sweetened for John by adding an extra incentive–his lost memories. Doe embarks to fulfil his mission when he comes across, Quiet (), a devastated refugee. She recently lost her brother to a psychopathic clown, Sweet Tooth, and his team. Quiet is now looking for a reprieve and while neither she nor John are initially interested in teaming up, they do so anyway to help each other.
Twisted Metal Season 2 Plot
As the duo continue making their way into New Chicago, they are apprehended several times by numerous people. However, they manage to get out unscathed each time. They take refuge sometimes while engaging in close combat at other times but never give up. Their friendship gets stronger with each passing day and the threats intensify, too. Moreover, Sweet Tooth still believes Quiet is his prisoner and John is yet to attain his memories back.
If Twisted Metal Season 2 is approved, it would certainly be centred around John’s struggle to find his true identity. Quiet has watched her brother, Loud, kill himself to salvage her on the command of Agent Stone. It would be unfair for her to not avenge her late brother, wouldn’t it? Twisted Metal Season 2 would be stuffed with drama, action and humour certainly.
