My Home Hero Season 2 Release Date
The anime is adapted from the eponymous manga written by Naoki Yamakawa and illustrated by Masashi Asaki. So far, Yamakawa and Asaki have released 21 volumes and are currently working on their next one. It is directed by Takashi Kamei and has enjoyed a three-month-long run from April 2 to June 18, 2023. Ever since fans have been wondering whether the sequel would be renewed or My Home Hero would join a list of cancelled animes.
So far, the makers haven’t commented on their plans. With the abundant source material available, the possibilities for a sequel are charting high. My Home Hero Season 1 Recap
The anime is centred around a middle-class simpleton, Tetsuo Tosu who discovers that his daughter, Reika, is in an abusive relationship. Though Tosu is a manager for a local toy company, he enjoys reading and writing mystery novels. After watching Reika drained emotionally and physically due to her boyfriend, Nobuto, Tosu decides to put his daughter out of her misery. Nobuto is a sort-of serial killer, murdering his girlfriends after stealing loads of cash from them. Tosu’s chosen path isn’t conventional but is influenced by mystery novels and his wife, Kasen. Her father operates a local cult but Kasen tries to stay away from their business as much as she could. Now, though, she actively seeks her father’s atrocious methods of torture and killing.
The Tosu couple plans a perfect murder with no loopholes in their strategy. They succeed in murdering Nobuto and hide his body but they fail to examine one loose end–Nobuto’s father, Yoshitatsu Matori. He is the head of a deadly yakuza (crime syndicate) and Nobuto was his only son. Now, Matori pledges vengeance on Tetsuo who tries his best to shield his daughter from this tumultuous mess.
My Home Hero Season 2 Plot
At the end of My Home Hero Season 1, Tetsuo and Matori clash against each other in a physical fight. As the two men grapple each other’s throats, Matori realizes Tetsuo’s true intentions and his shortcomings. While Tetsuo has been crossing boundaries and stabbing people around to save his daughter, Matori blindly sought revenge, disregarding everything and everyone around him. To him, it was a matter of pride. Matori eventually stabs himself due to guilt, leaving the Tosu family in peace. After burying Matori’s corpse, Tetsuo returns back to his normal life finally.
Since the anime didn’t leave any cliffhangers, My Home Hero Season 2 is being clouded with uncertainty. It is possible that Kamei will adopt the remaining chapters of the manga and showcase Reika turning into an investigating officer. This would endanger Tetsuo’s carefully constructed lies and threaten to destruct their relationship. However, nothing could be said for sure yet anyway.
