As I discussed above, Tanaav is a Kashmir-based espionage thriller. Kabir Farooqui (Manav Vij) is a retired Special Task Group officer who lives in a secluded place with his wife Nusrat Farooqui (Sukhmani Sadana). Can an officer truly retire though? Kabir, when came across a separatist Umar Riaz aka Panther, cannot hold himself back. He approaches STG head Vikrant Rathore (Arbaaz Khan) and joins the force once again to serve his nation.
This season will most likely explore Vikrant and Manav’s take on different terrorists and work towards making Kashmir a terror-free zone. There is also a possibility that Tanaav Season 2 will take place in a modern-day Kashmir. It could also portray the internal riots between STG. Well, the sky is the limit and we would have to wait to witness what the screenwriters Ishan Trivedi and Sudhir Mishra have in store for us.
Tanaav Season 1 Review: A Compelling Storyline But Not A Fresh Take On Kashmir’s Sufferings
Tanaav might be gripping in a classic take your time to introduce the characters way but there is nothing fresh about it. Comparing it to other Kashmir-based series becomes a relatively easy task. As you watch it, you will naturally start to wonder about a similar series which doesn’t help while watching an espionage thriller. The cast members miss many pivotal moments in the scene and do not keep up with the fast pace of the series either.
What I find fascinating is that the creators have stuck to the inspiration tightly. Of course, it was Palestine that has been targeted in Fauda, not Kashmir. But that doesn’t make much difference since both cities are tormented by separatists brutally. If you are looking for a lazy binge-watch, Tanaav will qualify your expectations. Moreover, it would leave you wanting more if you are into the genre. For me, Tanaav doesn’t deserve more than 6.5 on 10.
