Asobi Asobase starts its story surrounding the lives of three girls. They are all in school, but in the beginning, they haven’t started being friends yet. Hanako Honda and Olivia are playing a game called “Look The Other Way”. Olivia is a foreigner; she is a transfer student who does not know much English yet. But, she is open to making friends with the other girls in her classroom. While Olivia and Hanako are having a fun time playing Look The Other Way, it catches someone’s attention. Kasumi Nomura was sitting all alone as usual – it was the recess period and she was sitting alone. Olivia offered her to come and join them.
