Personal Life And Career
As the son of film critics, Parambrata was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. As a mother, he is the granddaughter of Ashish Chandra and Gita Ghatak, the grandnephew of actor Ritwik Ghatak, and the son of Satinath Chatterjee and Sunetra Ghatak. Parambrata’s aunt is Mahasweta Devi, an activist and author from Bengal. His secularist beliefs have frequently led to him being targeted by extremists. So, along with it, his former girlfriend Swastika Mukherjee was the subject of his prior relationship. He had spent close to ten years with a Dutch physician named Ike Schouten. Rudranil Ghosh, one of Parambrata Chatterjee’s fellow guests, unintentionally brought the Bengali filmmaker’s reality programme to a tumultuous situation during an episode. The presenter asserted that the two performers were seeing the same female when they were interacting. So, not content to stop there, he made a derogatory and obscenely sexually suggestive comment, calling the girl a “playground” where he “played” in the morning and Parambrata “played” in the evening. So, the girl in issue was offended by this remark and responded by filing a defamation lawsuit against the two actors. Still, a lot of media coverage wrote the incident down as a “bad publicity stunt from the producers.”
Poulami Bose, who directed the film Abhijaan, was accused by her son’s accident, director Parambrata of utilising her son’s accident in the film, and of flagrantly misrepresenting the actual events and significant persons and parts of her life. The actor himself, according to Parambrata, approved of the representations.
