He has learned survival skills as it was his necessity. While Shannon, Jesse’s Brother, works as a commercial fisherman.
Pete had learned his survival skills as a companion with his father from childhood. He along with his father went fishing and hunting which made him realise the skills. Along with him is his son Sam who is professionally an environmental scientist. He has also known survival skills and a perfect species knowledge.
Alex who is a resident of Maine is professionally a construction foreman. His house was close to a lake and there he learnt his fishing and hunting techniques. He has also been in the Marines. Currently, he is taking classes to become a wilderness guide. We see Logan, Alex’s son, who is also looking to become a wilderness guide.

Brooke has done many things in life like she is an author, picker, filmmaker, and outdoor educator. Also, she has won awards in Baking. She learnt all her hunting and fishing skills from Michigan. Her partner is her husband Dave who is also from Michigan but lives in Alaska.
Brad Richardson has learnt his primitive skills in the boreal forest. He is a resident of Illinois who specialises in tools and hand-forged knives. His team member is his brother who also has a good knowledge of surviving in the extremes. They both have blacksmith shops.

This is a show where a team of two is selected from various places who are family members. Both are placed in different places a few miles from each other. They have to find each other and then survive the challenges on their way outside. Season four is set in Vancouver Island and these participants had been there surviving in nature. Also, this show is real as there are no crew members with the participants.
All the participants have cameras with them and they alone shoot everything they have done in their survival journey. So this show is unique and different from all the other survival shows.
