Oppenheimer: A Groundbreaking Masterpiece
The movie takes us back to the super-secret Manhattan Project. Army General Groves hires a team of scientists at Los Alamos Laboratory. Under Robert Oppenheimer’s leadership they were carrying out experiments and trying to develop the first atomic bomb. We see the brightest of minds – Niels Bohr, Richard Feynman, Lewis Strauss, Arthur Compton and many more. The scientists were cut off from the outside world. All of them works with extreme precision. After pages of calculations the group finally manufactures the first ever atomic bomb.
Oppenheimer shows the scientific brilliance behind the atom bomb. They codenamed it as The Trinity Test. The explosion was so powerful that it was felt 100 miles away from the test site. The nuclear blast and its impact has been crafted with sheer brilliance by the filmmakers. Although everyone was happy, Oppenheimer’s gut feelings did not allow him to enjoy their victory. As a man with great conviction, he could sense that he has opened the gateway to hell. The devil was lurking just behind. On 16th July, 1945, under President Truman, USA deployed two nuclear bombs, Little Boy and Fat Man which destroyed two beautiful cities in Japan.
Oppenheimer was not a war monger. The film depicts the terror and the regrets on his face after the devastating incidents. When he expressed his concerns and opposed the development of nuclear weapons, he fell under the heat of the government. They made committees and held hearings just to decide whether Oppenheimer should have security clearance or not. We get sneak peaks of his personal lives and affairs. He’s not just a theoretical physicist who’s a tool of the government. He feels the pain behind the lives lost in bombings. He understands how dangerous it is to be the key to endless death and destruction.

Cillian Murphy stuns us once again with his phenomenal performance as J Robert Oppenheimer. The film has a huge cast with the biggest names of Hollywood. Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, David Dastmalchian, Josh Hartnett and many more.
Directed by none other than the legendary Christopher Nolan, the movie is released by Universal Pictures.
