With Valentine's Day just around the corner, movie buffs must be looking for that perfect romance film for a movie date night. And as always, Netflix has come to the rescue! Directed by Rick Jacobson, The Royal Treatment is a Romantic film of American origin on Netflix. The screenplay is written by Holly Hester with Mena Massoud and Laura Marano in the lead roles. In February 2021, the production began filming in Dunedin, New Zealand. The movie was released on 20th January 2022 and was instantly liked by several fans. The list of producers in the movie The Royal Treatment includes Laura Marano, Vanessa Marano, Ellen Marano, and Chloe Smith. Is The Royal Treatment Based On A True Story? Well, to simply put it, no. The Royal Treatment is a fictional story of an average hairdresser falling for a royal prince. However, many realistic elements make the movie very relatable to the crowd. The setting of the film takes place in the real world with the characters going on about their usual lives. The whole environment of the movie may give the viewers an idea that The Royal Treatment is based on a true story. But the directors and creators have made it quite clear that the plotline is their brainchild. Even so, Izzy's personality is relatable at many points during the film. The Royal Treatment Story The story starts with Isabelle or Izzy, a hairdresser who is a happy-go-lucky person trying to make people around her happy. She opening scene starts with her giving out free doughnuts to her neighbors. However, her dreamy morning is shattered when she finds out that there was a fire at her salon caused by the microwave. As if that was not enough already, Doug who is her owner’s assistant comes to take the payment for the damage. Izzy, who has no other option, gives her savings to replenish the loss. The scene then shifts and the Royal Prince of Lavonia, Prince Thomas is introduced. He is preparing for his upcoming wedding and asks his assistant to book a haircut appointment. The assistant mixes up and the call goes to Izzy, who agrees to the appointment. However, when she arrives at the palace, she sees how badly one of the maids is treated and leaves without giving Prince Thomas the due haircut. But Thomas realizes his mistake and goes to Izzy for an apology and they end up having a fun night together. The Royal Treatment Recap Izzy is then contacted again by the royal family for the upcoming wedding’s make-up artist. So when Thomas asks Izzy and her parlor crew to go with him to the castle, they all agree. Izzy and Thomas grow closer to each other and he assists her in the viewing of the province. When his fiancée’s mother confronts him about him and Izzy being so close to each other, Lauren (Thomas’ fiancée) admits that she does not want the wedding either. However, Izzy, heartbroken because of Thomas’ wedding, returns to her original life and finds some relief. Doug confesses that it was his fault because of which a fire broke out. Meanwhile, on the wedding day, Thomas’ assistant tells him to go and confess his love for Izzy. He follows her advice and rides on horseback on his way to propose to Izzy. The end scene shows them riding on horseback together towards the castle. The Royal Treatment Cast Laura Marano plays the lead role as Isabelle 'Izzy'. She is a hairdresser who laters falls for the royal Prince. Mena Massoud is cast as Prince Thomas, Izzy's love interest in question. The other cast members include Cameron Rhorole as Walter, Jen Van Epps as Jane, Elizabeth Hawthorne as Nonna, and Teuila Blakely as Queen Catherine. Apart from them, Chelsie Preston Crayford, Taylor Barrett, Jay Simon, Grace Bentley-Tsibuah, Amanda Billing, An Xin Chang, and James Gaylyn are also a part of the movie.
