Originally translated to Berserk of Gluttony: The One That Exceeds the Concept of Levels, the manhwa boasts eleven volumes. Developed at the A. C. G. T Studio, with Mariko Kunisawa in charge of the screenplay, Berserk of Gluttony premiered on October 5, 2023. The dark fantasy anime chronicles Graphite’s tale of weaving through a string of hardships to emerge as a ruthless warrior. Initially, he is a gatekeeper for the avarice Vlerick family and is humiliated constantly for his skill, “Gluttony”. The holy knights disregard Fate and his skill as “completely useless”, because it renders him starving permanently. On an unfortunate day–or fortunate?–Graphite slaughters one of the bandits who aspired to rob the Vlerick household. He accidentally activates the dark aspect of his skill, which consumes the dead bandit’s soul and absorbs all of his strength.
Fate realizes that Gluttony can help him become the most powerful knight but his fear holds him back from utilising his ingenuity. Meanwhile, Roxy, the heir to the Hart clan and Fate’s only confidante, offers him a position. As Graphite struggles with his newly activated skill, he accepts her proposition and then begins taking on several deadly missions. Meanwhile, Roxy, after losing her father, becomes the commander of the Hart clan. Fate via Telepathy–another skill he garnered through Gluttony–senses that Roxy has been targeted.
