He is planning to overthrow the current government and become chief minister. But he is confronted by a group of innocent people and a fight follows.

But is Choona based on a real incident? Is everything on screen a true story? Although the plot might appear attractive and magical, let us tell you. No, Choona is not based on a true story. The plot of the web series is a work of fiction. The story makers have entirely used their creativity and imagination to develop the storyline of this Netflix drama. It is directed by Pushpendra Nath Misra who was behind the famous Taj Mahal in 1989. The director has written the story himself and he has not mentioned basing it on any real event.

Choona: Storyline Of The Political Satire

The series will revolve around the war between a corrupt political persona and a team of people. Although this is a group that is fighting against their common enemy, it is a chaotic mix of people. We have a drunkard, an astrologer, a lover, a permanently dumb man, a weird news informer, a police officer, and a student union leader. Each of them has lost before Shukla in some way or another. The policeman was demoted for opening his mouth too much. Even the student leader faced trouble due to Shukla. Every one of them hates the politician a lot.

Shukla is a man of great planning. He loves to take every step meticulously and depends on astrological signs. Although he owns the property, but still takes money from people who are in distress. No matter how big you are, if you go against Shukla, you might be silenced forever. His main interest is to be the Chief Minister of Lucknow. So, he starts manipulating the people holding positions and other politicians. And if everything goes according to his plan, he will gain at least 300 crores.

So, the group of seven forms a union and wages a war against the corrupted man. Apart from it, they want the huge stash of money owned by him. The massive amount of 800 crores is the winning prize for them. Shukla’s fortress is heavily guarded because he has a high status. So, they decide to play the game in Shukla’s terms. Having an experienced astrologer with them, they decide to make their moves according to the planets. Since Shukla runs on astrology, they decide to fool him.

Jimmy Shergill stuns the audience as Shukla, a wicked politician. Arshad Warsi shines in this series like he did in Asur. Other notable cast members include Aashim Gulati, Chandan Roy, Niharika Dutt, Atul Srivastava, Monika Panwar, Namit Das, Gyanendra Tripathi, and Vikram Kochhar.
