Back with another mind-numbing season, the true crime docuseries Catching Killers has hit Netflix. With 4 episodes to its name, following the case-of-the-episode style, this new season is brimming with nerve-wracking stories of psychopaths. Catching Killers is a Netflix original crime documentary that has been garnering wide appraisal for a couple of years now. This new season isn’t disappointing either, it follows the blueprint laid out by the previous seasons and leaves an eye-opening, heart-clenching realization in its wake.
Crime might not be the go-to option for everybody but people who lose their sense of morals waste no time transforming into cold-blooded murderers. Catching Killers Season 3 Episode 1 Recap
Manifested by Simon Dekker and Diana Sole Walko, Catching Killers wastes no time getting to the point and introducing the detectives and the officers who’ll be narrating their experiences. It commences with the Chief of Police, Randy Kennedy walking down the memory lane as he reminisces about his late friend, Leafie Mason. She was assaulted before being beaten to death. Though Kennedy tried his hardest to catch Leafie’s killer, his efforts went futile for a while.
Soon after Mason’s murder, another woman named Dr. Benton was assaulted in a similar pattern. Kennedy was joined by Sergeant Ken Macha and they formed a team to investigate the murders. Just a couple of days later, another woman was killed in the same way and Kennedy knew he had a serial killer to catch soon.
FBI agents, Kimberly Barkhausen and Drew joined the case, too, and soon they caught the pattern of this serial killer. They couldn’t, however, catch their suspect, Rafael Resendez-Ramirez. They managed to get hold of his sister, who later helped them catch Rafael and Kennedy was finally able to bring justice to his late friend.

Catching Killers Season 3 Episode 2: Is The Zodiac Shooter Caught?
The second episode of Catching Killers is centred around an enigmatic sociopath who delights in murdering people by using their zodiac signs. Detective Mike Ciravolo, the head of the Robbery Unit, has always aspired to help the elderly fight for justice. When one such old man, Joe Proce, is shot by a zip gun, Ciravolo and the entire police department are flabbergasted. They chalk it up to a robbery case but soon realize that their search pattern has flaws in it when several other unrelated, spontaneous murders are reported.
Joined by three more detectives, Larry Milaneski, Louia Savarese and Joe Herbert, the search for this Zodiac killer ensues. As the investigation progresses further, the officers discover the pattern and motive of this aspiring warlock–a male witch. However, they couldn’t find a name until they get an anonymous call from a crying woman who claims that her brother is holding her boyfriend hostage.
In a strange turn of events, Milaneski and his team are able to spot the similarities between the kidnapper and the Zodiac killer’s writings. A seventeen-year-old teenager, Heriberto aka Eddie turns out to be the psychopath who shook the world.
Catching Killers Season 3 Episode 3: The Olympic Bombing Leaves Atlanta Shaken
In the mid-90s, the Olympic games held in Atlanta were strained with blood and the cheerful vibes that filled the stadium were destroyed in a split second. Though it didn’t deter the Olympics, it certainly led towards a fearful environment in Atlanta. The FBI agents, Tom Bush and Woody Johnson were led into the case and they started investigating this bombing under duress.
Shortly after the first explosion, a second bombing took place and that left the investigating team in shambles. Jim Russell joined the team and they slowly started to uncover the attacker’s motives and plans. Despite having that and knowing the attacker’s name, Eric Rudolph, they couldn’t get hold of him. Russell followed Rudolph to his trailer and found out his abandoned van with two receipts. One receipt is found to be of a McDonald’s meal. The other of a grocery store from where Eric brought 100-dollar-worth groceries.
Eric’s disappearance led to the longest manhunt in American history. This hunt continued for five years before a local police officer caught him. Eric was forced out of hiding due to starvation which resulted in his arrest.
Catching Killers Season 3 Ending Explained: Does The FBI Succeed In Capturing The Montgomery Sniper?
Probably the most heart-stopping case of Catching Killers Season 3! The final episode of the season commences with a loud gunshot, a trail of blood and no witness. On a busy Montgomery street, a woman is shot and there is no evidence. Is it even possible? Yes, it is. Detective Terry Ryan and his senior, Roger Thomson are assigned this complicated case. But before they could fully investigate the crime scene, another woman is shot a few metres away.
One murder leads to another, creating a series of six murders in less than a day. The FBI agent, Caroll is led onto the case and the investigation commences. They catch a few suspects but none of them are proven to be criminals. There are hardly any witnesses and clues for them to continue.
After yet another murder, a witness confirms that a white box truck was present on the crime scene and the driver is probably the murderer. Caroll and her team start scanning the CCTV footage and they are finally able to draw a pattern. The truck is found to be under the name of an illegal Canadian immigrant, Lee Bloyd Malvo who is under the influence of John Allen Muhammad. Striving and struggling, the detectives and the agents finally catch these two.
