Asur Season 3 Release Date
Season 2 of Asur was released on June 1, 2023. The series received massive support from the viewers because of its gripping storyline. After the release of Asur Season 1 in March 2020, the audience loved the show immensely which led to its second season. The first season came to an end, the excellent ratings that followed the show encouraged the creators to move ahead with the second season. After a wait of two years, Asur season was finally released a few days ago.
Following the second season of Asur, many fans have raised the question if the show is going to return for another season. Let us jot down the various possibilities that are present to us regarding the show’s return.
Asur season 2 ended on a cliffhanger. Yes, the perpetrator of season 1 has indeed been ultimately killed in season 2, but the ending left a pathway open for a third season. The ending of the second season shows that Vrinda is the potential Asur of the next season. She is going to be a new input in the show. We can say that season 3 has already received its Asur, now we will have to wait before we receive any official news from the creators.

Asur Season 1 Story: Let’s Rewind!
Asur is essentially a mystery thriller that also falls under the psychological crime genre. It is a new generation series that manifests the worst nature of certain humans. The series shows that sometimes humans do not fall short of the characteristics that an Asur has. In season 1 of Asur, we are introduced to the characters of Dhanajay Dj Rajpoot and Nikhil Nair. They form the main duo of the series around whom all the incidents will revolve.
The series opens with Nikhil Nair being summoned to investigate a case of a chain of murders. In solving the case, he is involved with his previous mentor Dj. Together they will have to sort out the case of mysterious murders that are taking place in the holy city of Varanasi. The irony in the story is, an Asur is on the loose in the religious city of Varanasi. Do you see what the creators are trying to intend here? I guess you have understood it now. Now, let us understand the start of this chain of murders.
It happened so that almost a decade ago Dj apprehended a person named Shubh. Although named Shubh, he was framed to be the murderer of his father, and thus he proved to be ‘Ashubh’ for his father. Dj did this because he believed that Shubh was a potential danger.
In season 1, Shubh is back to avenge the wrongs that he had to face. I do not know how there is any logic behind his actions, but bad people do not require any explanation. Nevertheless, the investigators are left unsuccessful in the first season of the series. They suspect Rasool to be Shubh which isn’t the case. Shubh is successful in killing Rhea, the daughter of Nikhil and Naina.
Asur Season 1 Outcome
The death of Rhea caused a breach between Nikhil and Naina. The parents could not bear the death of their only child. As a result, Naina in rage decided to separate from Nikhil.
Dj was blamed for all the consequences that happened in season 1. Nikhil separated from him and did not want to continue working for him any longer. As a result, season 1 of the show left almost everybody in pieces. Dj and Nikhil start to go their ways to apprehend the real culprit.
Rasool was confused with Shubh because of the demonic sketches that were revealed in his notebook. However, that was a wrong move on the part of the investigators. They should have properly questioned the situation before concluding Rasool was the real culprit. However, this confusion has been cleared up in Asur season 2. Asur Season 2: Death Of Shubh!
In season 2, Nikhil and Dj are carrying out their operations separately at first. Dj and Naina are working together to find the real culprit of Rhea’s death. They did not take the footsteps to question the maid who poisoned Rhea causing her death. Here, Nikhil is unaware that Naina is collaborating with Dj. He is leading a team of his own, an official one, to find the real Shubh and capture him as soon as possible. More mysterious murders have taken place which makes the whole scenario extremely complicated.
On the other hand, Rasool, who was confused with the real Shubh in season 1, turns out to be equally evil as his partner. He is the one who murders Ishani. It is at this point that Nikhil and Dj have to come together to solve the case once and for all.
Rasool has been used as a pawn by Shubh since season 1. Hence, the death of Rasool was inevitable in the show. He kills his self but does not reveal the real identity of Shubh till the end of his life which shows his obedience and allegiance to his master.
Later on, we find out that Shubh used various techniques to fool the CBI. He also uses several videos and AI to manipulate the population so that he can prove his so-called innocence. However, his false pretensions do not go on for long. Shubh plans on a conference to instigate the people while he has already installed sonic bombs in two places in the city. Dj has to save the city, and so does Nikhil.
In the final moments of the series, we see that Dj and Nikhil are successful in saving the people of the city and killing Shubh. However, a new Asur is emerging soon.
Asur Season 3 Predictions
As has been already mentioned we are predicting that Vrinda will be the potential Asur of season 3. She is going to carry out the legacy of Asur. However, since the series has a lot of plot twists, as of now nothing can be predicted with surety. We might find that Vrinda is not the real Asur of season 3, who knows? We will only get to know something once the trailer of the upcoming season gets released.
